Love the Notorius with the Six Pack MTs. Got a question...are those 2.8s or 3.8s and are they 17mm hex? I'm asking cause I bought some 2.8 Lockup MTs for my Talion and can't get them on with the stock 17mm hex wrench cause it won't fit into the small hole. I see you have HR wheel nuts...is that the solution? Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

They’re the 2.8’s. Yes it is a PITA to change and tighten wheel nuts!! I start em by hand and crank me down w a stub pair of needle nose pliers. The 17mm tool doesn’t fit well. I’ve snapped a thin cheap needle nose pliers doing it this way so I use a thicker tool but it gets the job the done.

Thanks...appreciate the tip. I even took mines to a RC store in my area (Philly) and he couldn't get them on. He said the 2.8 Duratrax tires are made for Traxxas (if you look on the inside it even says Maxx on them). I bought a new wrench off eBay that's a little slimmer I hope and doesn't bulge out the way the stock wrench does. Someone in the store the day I was there told me to shave down the 17mm marking on the stock wrench and that might make it fit. I'm gonna go the pliers route like you said though. I wound up buying a set of PowerHobby Raptor tire/rims that work good too. They're a little shorter that the stock Katars but wider. The rim aint bad looking either and they have colors. I wanted a smaller belted tire to cut down on weight and ballooning. Those 3.8s are too damn big and heavy in my opinion especially the belted ones (damn near 7 inches high). I got a Talion so I want my thing looking sleek and fast instead of like a clown truck with oversized tires. I don't do jumps or no heavy bashing cause I'm in the city so it's mostly street/speed runs on concrete and asphalt or some off road on light grass at the parks and baseball/football fields.

I had the 3.8s in my hand and last minute decided to go w the 2.8 instead. They’re a great looking wheel however they were a little lopsided out of the bag but eventually they straightened up. They have tons of grip and pick up a lot of dirt and debris in the locking ring. I took the 2.5mm Allen and snugged down all the screws around the bead as well. They do not balloon and have decent cushion for bumps and landings. These are also on my stretched & widened talion (Mojave chasis, kraton hubs) seen in pic above. I’m in NY just north of the city so my bashing is also on road off road parks woods etc. I’m running a heavy geared max6 combo(24/44) and the road definitely shreads the treads down. Cheap enough to not care, saving the katar as they become harder and harder to find lol.
