Fireworks! #2

I actually never had a problem with the connector power-wise, but in this case the connector ended up wedged between the esc & body. The fire from the esc melted the connector, sticking it to the esc. It took all I could to disconnect the batteries b4 it lit up the whole car. The fire didn't stop until I unplugged the batteries.

@Megasty Jesus. That’s horrible. It’s so damn scary when they catch fire too. I’ve only had one esc die and it poured smoke. I ripped my crawler body off like a maniac. I was so panicky I couldn’t get the pins out. Took way longer than it should. Ripped the esc out didn’t lose anything. It’s your $100s even $1000s about to die right in front of you. I can completely understand why you don’t use them anymore. So the body held it in a way that it shorted?

@RxMonkey Thankfully, the esc blew the most on the side facing motor & most of the fire was contained under the chassis brace. The cable was hooked on the tabs on the brace & held in place by the battery strap, But the strap broke, which let the connector move where it pleased - straight to the esc. It didn't short or anything, when the esc grenaded it produced enough fire to melt the connector to it. So I was basically trying to pull the battery cable off the burning esc

been there done that! my mega esc started smoking and i franticly ripped out 3/4 body pins and didn't realize because i was panicking so much and i ended up almost ripping the front half of the body off my granite leaving the bed behind :ROFLMAO:, then i realized the 4th pin was still in and at that point i just swiveled the body out of the way, i tried to turn it off with the switch but it was unresponsive so i had to yoink the battery out. and honestly, i gotta say it, scared the $#!% out of me!! 🙁🤷‍♂️
