Tire blown after tapes for waterproofing came loose. Shame had only 2 runs on them.
Tapes for waterproofing? Please explain what that is. And that is a total bummer about those tires.

Well maybe I don't use the right terminology, but these rims have venting holes in them. Like most I believe. I taped these off because of bashing in wet/watery grass. They came loose and let water into the foam/tire. When ballooning, this makes them blow. Like this ;)

Did you make two vent holes after taping tires? Anyways i have similar issues on 6/8 trenchers after too much reckless ballooning :)

Nah the holes were there. I didnt tape the tires, i taped over the holes. To prevent water from entering.

Did you vent the tires? If you sealed the vent in the wheels but did not vent the tires then you have a sealed tire. 2 things can happen with sealed tires. The first being "bounce". After a landing a jump the tires will compress expelling air from the vents in the wheels. Then the foam inside and the side wall will rebound and air will re-enter the tire, at a controlled pace. When you taped over the vent in the rims, the tire now compresses on the bottom, but has to expand on the top or at least creat a high pressure situation inside the tire.

When the unvented tire rebounds it does so very quickly, and may cause the car to bounce or skip around in the bumps. The 2nd thing that can happen and most likely the issue in your case in a mis-shapened tire. Now that the wheel and tire are sealed, when it balloons, the inside volume of the tire wants to change. Being sealed it has no way to allow more air into the tire. so ther is a low pressure situation in the tire, but the centrifugal force of the spin is still pulling the rubber away from center. This in turn unbalances the wheel, and can lend to one or more small sections of the tire being heavier and pulling harder, outwards, than other parts of the tire. The heavy side pulls away from the stretched out portion of the tire and BOOM, you tire blows.

Stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I used silicon to cover the holes n my wheels for my trenchers. Then drilled two holes in the center of the tires. Been workin fine so far
