Fresh out of the box, I just couldnt resist after watching videos on this site, thanks for the encouragement guys!!
I've heard of some people doing that with their RC's.
I never have with mine, I just do a quick once over to make sure everything is tightened and secure and take it out and run it. I don't go crazy with the first pack though.

Check your battery tray and make sure there are no screws protruding through the bottom in the corner. It was a problem with earlier versions but looks like they've fixed it in the new orders.
 
@xplatinum according to ARRMA, they recommend
Sitting the vehicle so the wheels are not in contact with any surface. Then run the vehicle for a while so the metal gears can adjust "break in".

I did what Outcaster mentioned, in this form:

Wheels of the ground 10- 15 mins running slow to mid idle.

Then used 1 full battery pack running the rc and not full speed. They "say" the RC gets faster as its breaking the gears.
