So this stops the ballooning? Does it increase traction?

@Paultro84 If your tyres arent balooning then you will have more surface rubber on the ground all the time so I would say yes, got to improve traction.

Out of interest what line did you use? I have some 2.8 trenchers that I need to strap but we don't get gorilla line here in the UK.. i'm sure any decent fishing line will do though?

Braided fishing line works great! I use 10lb test and it's super thin.

Dumb question but how did you tie them? What kind of knot or whatever you did to keep them on. I attempted to do mine but they popped right off.

Braided line is difficult. Tie a square knot but loop the line twice finishing the knot. Then I put a dab of tire glue directly on the knot. Bing bango
