Typhon V3 Plastic Shock parts !! Why !!

Mega high speed stack. End to end flips lol !! Blew of both rear lower shock caps on the Typhon. Why would they use plastic on the shocks ?? Does anyone know if the V3 Kraton alloy lower caps screw straight on ?? Cheers appreciate the help !!
