Alright for a smaller RC I've gone back and forth between Traxxas, LC, Tacon, Dromida, Team Associated and I think I've settled on the Tacon Soar. I've been reading that you can use 2s and 3s Lipo batteries but every time I click the suggested link for the battery the links no longer work. What type of 2s battery should I be looking for? What kind of connector will I need? I see on ebay they sell the banana to XT60 adapter that is mentioned a lot but wondering what other connectors would work/could be better? Also, looking at the NitroRCx website it seems like none of the Tacon parts are in stock??? I will probably want to buy some upgrades for this thing but not sure where to look yet.
For batteries I have been running these https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy...-monster-beatle-sct-buggy.html?___store=en_us change the esc to XT60s and be done with it. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/xt60u-xt60-upgrade-male-female-5-pieces-each.html?___store=en_us
If you want to run these batteries https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-2200mah-2s-40c-lipo-pack-1.html?___store=en_us you will need to remove the stock battery strap then get one of these in the medium size then and trim down to fit I would also pick up some of their Velcro and put it on the batteries so they stick to the mount http://puretechproducts.com/product/xtreme-quick-mounts/

Parts can be found here http://casterracingmi.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=171 they also have a few battery options.

For upgrades get the T-bone front bumper and rear skid plate, the LC Racing carbon fiber center brace, as the stock plastic one is kinda meh, and if you want the LC Racing carbon fiber shock towers, aluminum c hubs, axle carriers and bellcrank. Trust me when I tell you this buy the brushless model right off the bat, do not waste your money on the brushed model.
This thread on Rctech has tons and tons of information on the LC Racing/Tacon vehicles. https://www.rctech.net/forum/micro-mini-scales/681066-lc-racing-emb-1h-official-thread.html

Here is a link to my build thread. https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/idk-what-i-want.7478/page-2#post-75408

These are super cheap to convert into a different vehicle, it cost me like $30 to change my MT into a Buggy.
And a pic to show how I mounted the Puretech RC Extreme quick mount.

Holy cow... I thought these things were supposed to be pretty quick and durable out of the box but you put tons of upgrades on yours. I'm looking for something that I can have fun with and eventually upgrade when I have more money to sink into it. Would you not recommend this model?

Yeah that started as the brushed model.
Get the brushless one like I said.

I do plan on getting the brushless model. So that would already net me several of the upgrades you had to do on your brushed model? I will definitely take the rest of your upgrade suggestions into consideration (y)

This week i should have the Kraton converted to EC5 so I can use the batteries/charging cables with my new Senton as well. I was wondering if I could get 2s batteries with deans that would be compatible in both my son's granite mega and this soar but the sizes are probably totally different huh. I know eventually i'm gonna have all sorts of batteries and parts everywhere but I'm trying to keep clutter down and minimize spending where I can haha

***Errr nevermind these batteries wouldn't work in the granite (20c vs 50c)

Yes the brushless models have all of the stuff I upgraded on my brushed truck.
For the brushless models I would pick up the tbone bumper and skid plate. Then down the road if you want to get all the fancy carbon fiber and red aluminum stuff you can. I would consider the carbon fiber center brace like I said the stock plastic one is kind of Meh.

Can you recommend pre-mounted tires?

I plan to drive this primarily on asphalt and ocassionally in gravel/dirt.

To be honest I would ask the guys on RC-Tech, or look through the thread over there, I was just planning on digging through that thread as I want some offroad tires for my buggy and I think the knock off badlands would be too big.

Welp… after buying a new chargers batteries shock oils and tools for our existing rigs, I am broke. haha gonna have to wait awhile to buy this and start upgrading stuff. Need to put myself in check here and make sure I don't over spend. So many awesome things I wanna buy now that i'm into this. But the Soar is definitely next on my list!

Hey got a Q. I am new to rc but just wandering, would aluminum traxxas slash 4x4 universal a-arms and shocks fit a granite blx? Cuz the traxxas slash does not look that different from the senton 3s. And senton 3s is not that different from the granite 3s.

I enjoy my Traxxas e revo 2.0 and I enjoy my arrma senton 6s :D.
Both are super fun, but I understand why people don't like Traxxas vehicles like the rustler and stampede, as the platforms are over 15 years old, but that doesn't change my opinion on that my e revo is my favorite rc!
For batteries I'd go smc. Good performing cheap batteries, the reason you should buy them over all the other good cheap brands is because they actually have customer support, and good customer support from what I hear.
