Anyone upgrade the shocks on the fazon voltage? It's very bouncy in the rear making it a little more challenging for my daughter. I also am ordering a bumper from Tbone racing. She's just getting used to it and has had several head on collusion and to my amazement nothing broke. Here's a pic of our bashing experience yesterday.

I have a senton and when i took the springs off they were at full rebound from factory, adjust that too 25% and should be better
 
If it bouncy you don't need to replace the shocks, the stock shock are perfectly fine, instead try to find what the issue is, maybe oil is missing? or the oil is too thick?

I'd think that it's a case of the spring rate being too high for the weight of the car. This problem is exacerbated when running only the two LiIon cells that came in the box.

BUT, soften it up and the vehicle bottoms out hard over bumps and jumps, which may require far more damping to prevent blowing through the shock travel.

This reminds me of my Motocross, sports car, and sports bike days... Suspension is the black magic that makes everything better.

BTW, another factor here is the tires, the stock ones have almost inexistent foams in them, if you'll film the car dropping from a foot height at slow motion, you'll notice the tires bottom out immediately, way before the shock starts to compress.

I would bet the tires are your problem way before the shocks, which i find are a good match for the car. I upgraded mine to brushless, and with 3s battery i need to crank the preload considerably, so i don't think the springs are too soft.
 
Thanks everyone, I'll investigate further. The rear seem really slow to respond after pushing the back end down. It takes more force then I would think and then it's slow to return to normal. I'll dig further see what I find and find some vids on adjusting springs to soften it up. Haven't accomplished that yet.

I meant using the spacers. Thread or spacers.. the effect is the same. I personally prefer spacers as you can get a specific preload easily, it's hard to measure and set preload between two settings with a thread.

As for "dialed from the factory", they set a specific amount, probably adjusted to the most common use, which is 2 lion batteries. but as you change batteries and even motor and esc.. then you need to adjust the preload to match the change.

My Fazon definitely have foam inside, i looked. Only very thin one.
 
Yeah, I think at this point that a better set of tires might make a large difference, especially on my son's fazon. Mostly because, before anything else happens, we get wheelspin instead of traction causing weight transfer to the rears. But this is all just theory in my head.

Meanwhile, we are constantly dealing with one little naggling problem or another, when all we wanna do is go thrash these puppies! I just received a used 4x4 Granite BLX with a castle brushless system. I'll share my experiences after mixing and swapping various parts and bits to see if I find anything improves the driveability.

I took one rear shock off. I am thinking there isn't enough oil as it doesn't come close to the threads. I would guess the shock is half full which I imagine is the reason for my problems.
 
Easy to test even without opening the shocks, just hold them upside down, wait few seconds and compress. If oil is missing you’ll feel some free play until you feel the resistance of the oil.
 
Yep. Definitely not full. I also saw you had a similar experience and you swapped the front shocks to the back.

I had the opposite problem, the front was jumpy because the oil was too thick there, and the rear was too soft.. swapping them fixed it.

One thing i don't really understand is that Arrma specifies they use the same oil weight front and back, but mine is not like that for sure... i guess they changed it over time.
