Where do you live? I’m in Manitoba Canada.

We will all wait for the xmaxx killer.

I still want a 1/5 scale kraton
I’m in New York. They sell for about a grand here USD. Saw one in the store when I was leaving my deposit on the 8s Kraton and walked out with an infraction ?, but I was about to pull the trigger on the dbxl 2.0

So your lhs confirmed it’s a Kraton 8s huh?

Been in contact with my LHS as well and let him know Im all in one whatever gets released. He said as soon as he can he will pre-order it for me. If it is a Kraton 8s I just sold all my 4s packs. :cautious: Didnt think about that until afterwards. That leads to a question I have. I have several 6s 50c 5200mah lipos. Could I just buy a few 2s packs that are also the same brand/ 50c/5200 mah packs to get 8s without any issues?

Nope

The older 6s packs will have cells which will empty faster than the new 2s packs. You can eventually put a lipo alarm on the 6s pack to avoid to have his cells going under the minimum voltage.

If the Kraton is the same one I saw & picked up for a moment then it should have a similar system as the DBXL-e 2.0 (& the weight is nearly identical too) But the Kraton is not 1/5. For proper comparison, you can use the 3XL-e which has the same proportions as the MTXL & the 1/8 Kraton. So if you take the 3XL-e & Kraton, they have virtually identical wheelbases & tracks ± a few mm's. That means a 1/5 Kraton would have to match up to that 40lb beast, need 12s, & be sitting it my shed for ages just like the MTXL. I'd rather keep it at 1/6, X-Maxx & DBXL sized, & actually runnable more than once a month

On the other hand, the DBXL is a true beast with the right tires & ESC. THe junk it comes with holds it back way too much. Give it a max5 and some badlands, hatchets, or any other X-Maxx tire & it will show its true colors. I would have got the 2.0 if I already didn't have one. I'm also running out of space for big RCs & don't plan on building a larger air conditioned shed any time soon . . . I might end up living in it if I do ;):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So then for people running 8s they always run 4 and 4? My 6s packs are only about a month old with maybe 3 runs each.

I can't see why this would be true. The 6S pack is just 6 1S cells in series inside a case. If you get the exact same cells in another 2s pack it shouldn't really matter how you arrive at the 8S as you're just adding another 2 1S cells in series.

As for the older cells being weaker, your packs are still relatively new and the cells in 2 different brand new 4s packs are not matched to each other anyways so i wouldn't worry about it.

It is better to use 2 identical batteries, but technically, you can do what you want. I would never use one 6 cells and one 2 cells though  , but it will work.

It will not only work, is exactly the same thing as long as the cells are the same.

Out of considering that the wires between the different batteries, which will have a little bit more resistance than the wires which connect the cells inside the batteries themself, no there isn't real difference. But it is still better to use batteries which have been used in the same way, i mean, which have been used at the same moment on the same power and same amount/number of discharge.

A battery which already has 20 discharges, won't act like a brand new battery.

Yes, and no. I didn’t try to pry the info out, I just assumed they took my money because I requested to be the first to get a new product that does exist.

Thank you for all the answers. My plan is to get the exact same 2s batteries for my 6s packs. For example I have 2 Ovonic 6s 50c lipos, and 2 Zeee 6s 50c lipos. I was going to get 2 Ovonic 2s 50c lipos, and 2 Zeee 2s 50c lipos so Ill have "4" 8s batteries. The only other thing I was considering is how they will install. If the new one has one battery try like all the others thats perfect. But if for some reason its 2 battery trays I might run into weight distribution issues. But all this is assuming its an 8s in the first place.

This rig best blow everyone away otherwise it might turn into one of those over hyped flops from Hollywood .
