I know this has been done to death, but being in the UK i can only seem to find the gensacearespammers 3s lipo packs that would fit in the Typhon 6s battery tray. They're only 24mm wide so could stand them on end instead of stacking them. A quick search on Hobbyking only throws up pairs of 3s batteries that would be too big or single 6s pack that would be too big...I've only been searching for 5000mah batteries btw, and ideally i would have a pair of 3s batteries but i'm not too bothered if there was a 6s option as well

Just wondered what the UK ARRMA contingent used in their Typhons without having wonky bodies !!??

As above^

I use the turnigy HD 4000mAh 6s from hobbyking. Iirc the 5000's should fit as well but I wanted to save some weight with the 4000.
Great value lipos that perform really well.

Another option is the 6s Turnigy Panther Graphene 4000 mAh for a higher C rating. Twice the price but doubt they will be twice as good.

I used a 6S Turnigy Nano-Tech Plus 5000mAh battery in my 6S Typhon V3 without any issues.

No wonky body or any issues with using that battery. ;)
Worth noting that the sizes listed on HK as well as some other sites for the batteries isn't always very accurate.

For example this is what Hobby King list for these two batteries I have....
Turnigy Nano-Tech Plus is 135x49x54.2mm (838.86g) and Turnigy Graphene Panther is 145x51x61mm (920g)

But when I measured my own I got;
Turnigy Nano Tech Plus 153x48.1x53.6mm and Turnigy Graphene Panther 142.5x50x59.5mm

Great, thanks for the info. I'm actually running a Turnigy HD 4s 5000mah right now and it's a good fit but thought it time I played with the big boys in the 6s park ?

You'll love it. ;)
Finally you'll have some real power to give that motor/ESC what it needs.

That is really great info to know, thanks for sharing.
No problem and you're welcome.
That's what it's all about on the forum helping each other out when we can and sharing the knowledge. (y)

Besides the typo that is quite accurate

Would the Rhino 6s 5000mah from Hobbyking not fit? Its a corker for the price much better than the HD in terms of discharge? Just a thought

No, iirc its 60mm in height? Its also really heavy... and... discontinued as far as I can see.

What do you mean with much better discharge?
You can find the Typhon battery tray size on the Arrma website

I used Turnigy HD for a drone and it wasnt good enough for that they drop off really bad towards the end they claim 60-130c ?. Used 4s and 6s. Both weak in terms of what they say they can deliver id say truthfully they are 20c. The Rhino on the other hand claims 50c and its more or less accurate alot more punch for alot longer time they have a xt 90 version for like £55 its the best value i have seen

I mean the people from HobbyKing made the typo for the length of the Turnigy Nano Tech Plus 135 vs 153
Bit more than a typo from them though wasn't it ;) and it was worse on the Graphene Panther.
I mean +/- a mm or two fair enough and there is always room for error when measuring soft packs so fair enough but another thing they got wrong is the battery weights so you definitely need to bare it in mind when ordering batteries from any supplier I'd say.

Just FYI about the battery weights;
On Hobbyking the 6S Turnigy Nano-Tech Plus (5000mAh) is listed as 838.86g and the 6S Turnigy Graphene Panther (5000mAh) is 920g.

Actual weights I measured of my own were; Nano-Tech Plus 800g odd which is lighter than stated and the Graphene Panther also weighs less than stated at around 860g odd. (y)

Are you able to fit 6s graphene into v3 battery tray?

I use a 5000mAh 6S Graphene in my V3 but it would only fit comfortably after modding my battery tray unfortunately.
It's a simple mod to do but some people might not want to cut their battery tray so in that case no the Graphene 5000mAh & above won't fit.

Hope that helps.

That was exactly that I was afraid for. I’m looking at Graphene for bashing with Kraton, so going to cut the tray is not my way, thank you so much for sharing that.

Can I recommend another battery I've used then if it helps which is a Turnigy 6S Nano-Tech Plus. It fitted perfectly in the battery tray without any modification whatsoever.

Here it is pictured next to the Graphene Panther I use.

If it's just for bashing though there are cheaper alternatives obviously that may do what you want for a little less cash.

Worth noting: Some people prefer to use hard case Lipos for bashing as soft cases are more easily prone to damage should they take a hard knock or impact. I like Turnigy batteries so tend to use only them but have heard good things about SMC and HRB Lipo batteries so maybe worth a look at them too.

I've used the Graphene Panther in 4S and found it a great battery; for 6S I've been using two 3S 5000mah Turnigy HD. I'd prefer hardcase but, for the money the HDs have been fine although, I had wanted to get a second 6S battery and was going to get the HD 6S 5000mah 60C battery but, Hobbyking UK use ParcelForce who won't deliver the 6S version because it exceeds their 100wh limit so you can only get them if you're happy to collect from the HK UK warehouse. So, I either stump up more cash for 2 x 3S versions or, try something else. Thinking of trying a 6S 5000mah HRB from Amazon UK, though it's the usual issue with them of infrequent availability.
