This had nothing to do with the NDA. It was the video he released that basically told people not to buy the K8S. Get a free truck before anyone else (for free no less) and then put out a review saying it's a piece of sh!t. He should have expected nothing less than what has happened. The leaked photo grief came from Talbot and his cronies that hate his guts. I truly believe the leaked photo had NOTHING to do with HH severing ties with him. I remember watching that video of his and thinking that this guy just committed Arrma suicide. Did he send it to HH first and say, "Just so you know this is what I'm releasing to my 60,000 subscribers. What do you think?" Hell no he didn't. So why should they tell him he's been sacked over it. Do the math. It's not hard.

His live stream video was painful to watch. Clearly he needs some sort of help. I genuinely felt bad for him. He says he makes next to nothing from his YouTube channel. So why get to the point he is at? There's something more going on there and I hope he seeks some help.
@bicketybam - you make some very valid points. Level headed opinions are hard to find when emotions are at play.

Anyone got the skinny on this drama? What happened with Vas and Arrma?
Sorry guys! I'm late to the game as usual. Thanks mods for moving over.

I feel bad for Vas. Not bc of what Arrma / HH did, but bc he's taking it so hard. He always did good reviews, I thought, and watching some of his old "backyard racing" vids is how I heard of Arrma.
This was a business decision by Arrma and I'm sure there're more details behind this story.
I hope Vas can move on from this having learned something and continue his RC reviews.

Hi guys,
I haven't read every post yet, however, I know there are a few of you who either don't care or are against my decision to post that video, but I'm truly humbled by the outpouring of support for the channel and concern for my well being. It's actually been overwhelming to see so many message me and comment on the video that it's got me choked up at times. Honestly, thank you all for you kind words, but I am fine and no, I don't need mental help as some of you have suggested. All I need is cold beer and chat sometimes with some old friends. ?

Yes, ARRMA and I have parted ways as of last night. Since HH took over the brand there is no doubt that they have grown, but the brand has changed and Jason is not the same person I interviewed back in February 2019. As the company has grown, so has his ego and that is very evident in the comments he made during the live stream.

Will I ever review another ARRMA? Like I said in the video, I have a few more ARRMA videos due out as well as the Tenacity DB Pro review that will complete my obligations to both HH and ARRMA, but no, I won't be reviewing any new ARRMA cars going forward. I don't want to say "never" because that's a really long time and wounds can heal, apologies can be made, people can change and the opportunity to clear the table and start over will always be there. I did have the EXB on order at the shop I work at, but I have now cancelled that order and will not be getting it. And of course, I have no plans to get the OutCast 8S or any other new or updated release either. Please understand that this is not an easy decision to make as no doubt the absence of ARRMA videos (which are among the most popular on my channel) will have an effect my channel views, growth and income. But given how this has all ended, I don't feel comfortable promoting a brand that I have such a long history with and that clearly has very little to no respect for what I've done for them. And if all it took was one mistake or one bad video to end the relationship, then clearly it was quite fragile and I was naive to think it could withstand those setbacks.

The good news is the channel will continue, albeit with perhaps a different format, but if in the future ARRMA or HH want to sit down, have a beer and work things out, they know how to reach me. ?
For now, I'll be taking a small break and allow the dust to settle on this situation and then I'll start uploading again in a couple of weeks or so.
Again, thank you all for the continuous support, stay safe and stay tuned. Peace.✌️

Vas , i will always be subscribed to your channel ! It is pathetic to sell
RC trucks and Cars that are supposed to be RTR and the radios don’t work . If you take a step back and realize where the world is today as far as technology i think it is very clear that there is no excuse for that . And the level of performance you get from the spectrum “8s “ esc and motor is a joke . All there new releases should be rollers , i would never waste my money on there electronics again . They claim to be listening to customers but when it comes to the negative they pretend it doesn’t exsist . Where is my refund for all the useless radios ? they don’t care they made their sale and are on to the next , you can’t build a customer base like that . Your sadly mistaken if you think a leeked photo is gonna determine wheather or not i spend $1000.00 on an RC vehicle , i could care less , how many Corvettes would be sold if the steering wheel only worked sometimes ....

Vas from @Aussie RC Playground posted a live stream this morning announcing that he is ending his relationship with HH, just as Thomas P did last year.

I hope that y’all could leave a nice message of support for him here. I know that I have already been missing your content brother. YouTube isn’t going to be the same without your content.

I am amazed at how sh!tyy this world can be to good people. That goes for heartless mega corporations as well as internet trolls. Y’all need to understand the damage a few keystrokes can do. You can change the life of someone halfway around the world with some dumb comment. Think before you post.

God I hope that this gets fixed. We need ya Vas

Just recently started watching his vids on YouTube thanks to the guys on this forum thats introduces me to his vids

Hasn’t Vas threatened to leave the hobby and stop doing videos before? He seems to whine a lot, of course that’s just my opinion. Seems like a decent guy but he broke terms of an agreement and Arrma viewed the breach as a detriment to their well being and they did what they had to do to send a message to others. JayTee posted a video of the outcast I believe more than a few days early, but it seemed like a legit accident as it was taken down right away.

I think I have watched them all

No he took a break for about half a year as he was going through some personal things.

I returned to the hobby after HH took over and while I enjoy my typhon, I don't understand why they provide a crap radio and no rubber shielded bearings. Sure, the price for a 3s typhon is good, however, the bearings wouldn't cost much more to be rubber sealed and the radio that's provided is dangerous. I think most people would pay sightly more for these things.

Don't think I'll bother buying another Armma unless their new releases address these problems. At least the radio. Since some newer models come with a different radio, I suppose there's hope.

If this is all about his K8S review, well then that is a bit different.. Respect to him for that, but if this is what happened as a result, well then you can see with crystal clarity what is wrong with the whole dumb system of companies handing out freebies to youtubers for "reviews". ARCP did do about as good a job as you can do of reviewing freebie Aarmas. I got my Kraton based largely off his reviews. They are good because he shows the trucks doing jump after jump after jump etc. I personally don't care about the people or cult of personality or whatever of the people doing them. In fact I would prefer if they didn't even show themselves and didn't talk to the extent possible. I am watching the video to see the product, not the person...

I personally find the entire system of freebie Youtube reviews to be disgusting. Talking beyond ARCP here, but there is rarely a longer term perspective, and of course if somebody is not paying their hard earned money it is always and fundamentally a different experience afaic. Phones, TVs, RCs, hotels, whatever. They can never have %100 integrity - ever. And if Vas got dropped for the K8S review, well there's your proof. He had integrity - good. So he told the truth and got dropped - bad. The whole culture of Youtube influencing and "reviewing" is repulsive... (And mix in a......... company........... like Horizon, and well, yeah, here you are...)

Wishing you the best. Enjoy that cold one.

I hope you have a good support network of friends and family to help get you through this tough time. Otherwise as you can tell this community is here for you.

Christ Almighty, I had to stop watching when the poor bugger almost started crying. That's a car crash and a half, I truly hope he calms down and get's his poop together, he seems a genuinely decent bloke.

He became far too invested in the brand unfortunately, almost like he believes he was/is an essential part of the Arrma staff, his reviews were as honest as the" getting the $1000 toy cars early and free" deal allowed him to be.

Arrma seems to have been very appreciative and generous toward him over the years, he even got to interview the main man JD, who I notice commented very amicably and friendly on his recent Typhon 6s video. They've told him couple of times now he's not getting any more freebies ...not sure what more Vas needs here, eternal gratitude, STX2 receiver and a hoard of vestal virgins sent over to Oz?

Get some R & R Vas and best of luck to you in the future.

Horizon is a pretty soul less outfit, as you'd expect from a company that is basically the product of a management takeover funded by venture capital.

That's not to say their products are bad. I fly planes as well as trucks and it's the same there. Free product only for reviewers that blow smoke up them, difficulty accessing spares, strict enforcement of distribution agreements, good products but a price premium that is difficult to justify.

Aussie RC playground seemingly one of the few channels that puts a truck through its paces out of the box. Although it's cool to watch, guys sending trucks that are 95% aftermarket parts that aren't even available in my country is of little relevance to my purchasing decisions.

My personal take is that he got the shaft from horizon because they simply don't give a stuff about the Australian market. The feelings he expresses in the video are pretty much how it feels to be one of their customers here. It's a real "take it or leave it, we don't care" attitude. Which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't run around buying every brand under the sun only to put their 'special touch' on it.

I hope he is feeling better, it was quite a distressing video to watch.

While a lot of the products he reviewed were freebies, I thoroughly enjoy his reviews. Jaytee seems to take it easy on the cars and rcdude beats the crap out of them. ARCP was driving them more like I do so it was nice to see a review that was close to how I drive my RC's. It gave me a better understanding of what to expect. Cheers to you, Vas. I appreciate you.
