I have bought my last Arrma car, cannot believe how Arrma handled this, even when they asked Vas not to reveal the real name of the person.
That is not a brand I want to spend my money on for new cars, yuk!

Hi guys,
I haven't read every post yet, however, I know there are a few of you who either don't care or are against my decision to post that video, but I'm truly humbled by the outpouring of support for the channel and concern for my well being. It's actually been overwhelming to see so many message me and comment on the video that it's got me choked up at times. Honestly, thank you all for you kind words, but I am fine and no, I don't need mental help as some of you have suggested. All I need is cold beer and chat sometimes with some old friends. ?

Yes, ARRMA and I have parted ways as of last night. Since HH took over the brand there is no doubt that they have grown, but the brand has changed and Jason is not the same person I interviewed back in February 2019. As the company has grown, so has his ego and that is very evident in the comments he made during the live stream.

Will I ever review another ARRMA? Like I said in the video, I have a few more ARRMA videos due out as well as the Tenacity DB Pro review that will complete my obligations to both HH and ARRMA, but no, I won't be reviewing any new ARRMA cars going forward. I don't want to say "never" because that's a really long time and wounds can heal, apologies can be made, people can change and the opportunity to clear the table and start over will always be there. I did have the EXB on order at the shop I work at, but I have now cancelled that order and will not be getting it. And of course, I have no plans to get the OutCast 8S or any other new or updated release either. Please understand that this is not an easy decision to make as no doubt the absence of ARRMA videos (which are among the most popular on my channel) will have an effect my channel views, growth and income. But given how this has all ended, I don't feel comfortable promoting a brand that I have such a long history with and that clearly has very little to no respect for what I've done for them. And if all it took was one mistake or one bad video to end the relationship, then clearly it was quite fragile and I was naive to think it could withstand those setbacks.

The good news is the channel will continue, albeit with perhaps a different format, but if in the future ARRMA or HH want to sit down, have a beer and work things out, they know how to reach me. ?
For now, I'll be taking a small break and allow the dust to settle on this situation and then I'll start uploading again in a couple of weeks or so.
Again, thank you all for the continuous support, stay safe and stay tuned. Peace.✌
You still have my support, and if you would turn Patron back on, you would have a few of my dollars every month too! :)

Take care vas, life will continue. I bought my S6S thanks to you. I love it everyday my lil "ultimate sct basher king" as you mentioned once in your vid.

I hope to see you around on other topics/brands accompanied with your true sincerity.

?

It upset me to see vas that angry and upset its despicable how arrma and HH has treated him after the support he has given the brand for all these years. .He is undoubtedly the best ambassador arrma has ever had and to be left hanging like that sickens me . I don't blame arrma so much as HH but only vas knows the full story. I will continue to support his channel no matter what he does

As someone who has been previously a 'partner' to a large distributor.... The unwritten rule was always the same....

You can say what you like... As long as its positive... ?...

And I'm surprised arrma gave anyone the products for free... Most 'sponsored' people I know pay for their stuff.... Hence the quip that 'sponsored = contracted customer'....

A few years down the road... And Im on the other side of that fence.... And I must say... Asking an individual not to post a picture of something multiple times... (A prototype or pre release product) ... To then see it on Facebook the same day.... Can be more than a little frustrating..... And that's without a legally binding NDA....

On the flip side.... If your arrma... And wanting to keep something hush hush.... Sending pictures out to people in the first place was the first mistake that enabled the rest of the situation to occur....

As for the three amigos and their merry gang that helped orchestrate the crap show that ensued after/around the leak... They tarnished their own name in the process... So much so that I refused to work with them when I was approached.... As have others...

For me... Its a question of trust and mutual respect.... Something that should work both ways.... But sadly is seldom the case...in the end it seems people are more motivated to actively make it to the top.... No matter who they tread on along the way... Than to enjoy the hobby for what it is..

hm did I just see this correctly?

he is not employed nor endorsed by HH/Arrma - he got a few favours and he is upset to get cut off and even threatens them eg I keep this video up but if you reach out I delete it?

his comparison getting locked out of a job - as an employee - surely doesn't apply as far as I know he works in a model shop and isnt on their payroll ...

I can clearly see his point, by doing this they potential cut off any future revenues from potential videos he makes and with his stance on the market there is no new content for him to produce - whingeing on an extremely high level if you like him or not ... but typically threatening a company has the opposite effect as else everyone will start running their mouth, I'd think that was it with him and Arrma unless he buys them to which he said he will sell them all off - as some of you know I was about to sell mine off due to non-delivered support that I actually paid for and was entitled to which changes the situation when the vendor tries to make it right but he clearly got favours in return of his reviews and history ... I still sold my K8S in the end though ...

as mentioned I am not sure but I would think a video like that sours the relationship even more - and surely his haters will keep the video alive no matter how many times he will claim to delete it ... really stupid move from my perspective

The manufactured outrage towards HH in this thread is comical, are you going to stop buying arrma? Are you going to sell all of your rc stuff? Are you going to boycott HH? No? Then get over it.

All I have to say about vas is choice and consequences, he made a choice and was held accountable for his actions. (Yes others are supposedly guilty too but that’s up to HH if they want to pursue it)

There is nothing manufactured about it. It is a horrible company. They bought Aarma the same way they bought Losi and it was downhill from there…

I totally agree with the guy on the previous page saying that at least he put their trucks through their paces in stock form instead of a bunch of guys adding all kinds of mods which they probably got for free too. That was a key factor for me to see how they held up out of the box.

All my interactions with HH have been extremely positive. No I won't stop using Arrma or Traxxas or anyone else, there is politics and there is value for the end customer. As long as I get value out of my money I will use it accordingly. You vote with your money as you please.

As long as you are in US, HH support seems to be great. If you have to deal with HH Europe, aka Staufenbiel Germany, it's a whole different story.

I really enjoyed Vas' reviews and he was a great ambassador for Arrma, imho.

couldnt be asked to read the entire thread before my previous post but since have ...

Moving forward I’d like to see Vas continue doing his channel with Arrma products and others with products he actually bought. Along with other reviewers too. Take away the corporate handcuffs and the need to be gentle and nice... Just a honest brass balls review straight out of the box.. No holds bar . The good with the bad and ugly period. That’s what people want to see and hear.

true - this is the honest review, when someone spends his own cash to recommend something or to give you his opinion - I hate all this influencing especially those of fan boys who would generally praise anything that comes from their preferred brand - but you need a serious amount of views to be able to afford this when it comes to RC thats for sure ...

I personally find the entire system of freebie Youtube reviews to be disgusting. Talking beyond ARCP here, but there is rarely a longer term perspective, and of course if somebody is not paying their hard earned money it is always and fundamentally a different experience afaic.
its actually a very common business practice these days - there are even influencers advertising their channels to companies - the whole idea is you have a huge amount of followers so the likelihood for someone to buy the product you talk about is not marginally but hugely higher and as such pretty good marketing - using a few boxes out of your stock, that else may just sit on the shelf somewhere doesn't hurt and you can even write them off ... traditional marketing has really reduced in comparison if you look at it in detail ...

generally, on leaks - there are even companies that use practices that look like something has leaked but details are leaked intentionally not all but some to keep their momentum going and as someone else said in this thread to keep people talking

I'd think the way Vas handled this by taking it in the public eye as I wrote previously soured the entire relationship - he took it out in the open, should have kept it to himself or rant in the family while remaining silent in the public eye but this seems to be common practice these days as well - just seen a similar video from someone who was part of nintendos ambassador program - similar situation really, frustrated to be taken out of the loop but stating it doesn't matter as he will keep on doing what he is doing especially as he didnt receive many benefits either so most of his reviews were self-funded anyway

As long as you are in US, HH support seems to be great. If you have to deal with HH Europe, aka Staufenbiel Germany, it's a whole different story.

it almost seems to be this being reversed when talking to Traxxas - they are willing to help in Europe refer you to the right folks and respond really quick in addition to that - cant fault them so far ...

You won’t hear that in Europe... (nearly as often anyway.. To be fair, they did replace my V900, which crashed into the ground at 100mph when the ESC melted.. Second Horizon plane to do that in a year.. The other was an F-27...)

As I mentioned before, I recently decided to bite the bullet and buy a Kraton (for €150 more than they cost in pre-Horizon times..), and went to two LHSs. The guys looked it up, and then just threw their hands up in the air. "Not available - no clue when. No clue what is up with Horizon".. They then went on to tell me how badly their experience with Horizon has deteriorated over the years.. That in addition to another HS guy I know who was dropped by Horizon, along with like %75 of all HSs several years ago. The story was that service went to virtually nil, because they could not handle the volume in this one little centralized place. Apparently now they are trying to crawl back to all the HSs they shafted.. But it sounds like too little too late... Horizon, in any event, is a big fat mess in Europe..

And they charge prices as if they were god's gift to the hobby. More like scourge..

Yeah I bought a Kraton (unused off ebay..) - because it has a good rep, largely demonstrated by ARPG.

Part support is virtually non-existent here in Germany btw.

And no, corona is no excuse - not for a company like Horizon - who charges prices like they do. Presumably because they are THE RC company, so what you're paying for is....................., what, part support?

The bottom line is, the least HH could have done to prevent this is to have responded to his messages and letter. Not too difficult considering he had a five year relationship with Arrma.
