Bought a fun car to bond with son and broke it! Just trying to figure out where and how to fix. its the motor that broke! thanks and really looking forward to building another one!

whats wrong with the motor is it not working, jittering or making nasty sounds? If so toss a nice brushless system in there! ;)
Yes sir! the metal cap popped off and its grinding!!! Brushless motor and battery is all it will take?

Holmes hobbies has a 12t trailmaster that would be a good direct replacement for around 20 bucks but it's probably on backorder like everything at the moment. Beyond that you are spoiled for choice in the brushless market. You should get a matching/better esc to go with a brushless motor though.

Hello my typhon's motor is making a grinding sound. I can't seem to find whats making that sound. Any ideas

Most likely its dirt build up under the spur gear. Try taking the power module out and inspecting it for dirt and grime. Also check your spur gear and pinion to make sure they arent chewed up. There are quite a few posts of how drilling a hole under where the spur gear sits should help relieve the chassis of dirt build up into the power module.
