This is my very first RC. Bought this last weekend. Every day since I've been putting it through it's pace. Finding limits and learning how the hell to drive. Also breaking things

Of course I drove into a concrete bench at half speed. Broke my front lower skid plate and my servo spun in the saver. Got bored today and threw in some parts from my kit build. Dynamite Tazer 3300kV brushless w/ esc and a savox servo.

Currently waiting for the battery to charge to test out the upgrades.

Next will be switching to LiPo power and I've got to repair a leaking shock. Oh, and glue the skidplate for the 3rd time haha. I've got my eye on granite 4x4 wheels as well but that may be a while.

Just got back from my first bash after upgrades. I'm very happy I decided to put the brushless motor in. There is a huge difference in power!

Right as my battery died I found an incredible spot for tomorrow. It looks like someone built a RC track in the snow just for me. Can't wait!

I love it when you find a spot that seems to be custom made for you!
Congrats on the new rig Where are the sweet bashing videos at?

I'm unsure of the real reason that track exists. I've never seen anyone use it other than myself.

It looks like I'll be retiring this machine for a while. Parts keep breaking and they are almost all on back order. No aftermarket solutions available either. Pretty disappointed by this.

That sucks about the parts breaking and not being in stock! The cold temperatures unfortunately make the plastics on these trucks a lot more brittle.
Sometimes the only way to fix them is to rig up something yourself. The other solution is to get a second truck to run while the other is down. You look like the type of basher that needs an 1/8 scale truck. They take a bit more punishment for sure.
I hope you get it fixed up soon!

Thinking outside the box is the only way any progression happens at all in this hobby. Solutions to problems can be a few feet away waiting for you to notice them. In my case, it was a few car parts sitting in the backyard, waiting for trash pickup.

I made these using T-bone's usual template. The super durable composite plastic came from an old Saturn bumper. This stuff will not break no matter what I do to it. I even made wing mounts out of it & I'm working on a wing too. But this stuff is an ass to cut. I have to use HD aviation snips just to get through it.

I'm giving the machine a rest until temps warm up around here. We are at daytime highs around 0°C which isn't great for the break-ability of the plastic haha. I've got all parts ordered now except for a bumper/skidplate :D

You're totally right. I'm going to try to come up with something over the next couple of weeks as I wait for parts to arrive. I saw in another thread you dropped a link for some ebay shocks. I think I'm going to order them up since I've got one leaking.

Currently waiting for shocks, aluminum piece for the front of the front a-arms, bumper springs. I'll be switching to lipo power once everything is arrived and installed. Just need to get the front skidplate and shock oil figured.

It's been a long time away from this hobby for me but I'm back at it. Recently ordered Granite wheels, Fast Eddy bearing kit, HD input gear for front and rear, and centre driveshaft support bearing. T bone bumpers and blue ebay shocks are installed. I only had 50wt TLR shock oil on hand when I filled the shocks so we will see how it goes. Ordered my first LiPo 2s battery so no runs with it yet other than the stock battery. Will upload some updated pictures soon!

Just realized this thread is in the wrong forum somehow... Hopefully a mod sees this and moves the thread to build logs

Bet you haven't been running that in this -35c/-39c with a -47c windchill this past week hey lol ))

You're right about that haha. The weather looks like it will be getting better next week so I'm hoping to get it out then.

I've been building a twin hammers kit and ordering too many things online in the mean time

Only -15 by tomorrow night, Tuesday and Wednesday we're at the zero mark give or take. T-shirt, shorts and sandals weather )

A couple pictures of how it sits now. Waiting for warmer weather this week so I can test out the new mods. Unsure how 50wt shock oil is going to work out. Hopefully I will get off work early enough this week to test it out before Friday

Your Senton journey sounds similar to ours. Servo saver, leaking shocks, broken front skid plate etc.
And we too used those shocks and the HD input gears. Learning the weak links as we go. ?

I found another one! :p

@Outcastblxnut @Notorious J Thanks!

Went out for my first bash in almost 2 years. TONS OF FUN. For reference, I've changed shocks and acquired a 2S 5000mAh 50C battery since the last time I drove it.

A short walk to a nearby parking lot that had snow cleared into huge mounds on the sides. The truck handled amazing with the new shocks. Lots of full speed drifts, hill climbs and jumps.

As history finds a way of repeating it self, my bash session didn't end until something broke :D. Sheared a rear wheel axle off. It looks like there is a CVD slider set (AR310870) that would be an upgrade. They are expensive though. Any input on if its worth the money? I don't really plan any further power upgrades except maybe changing my pinion for more top speed.

@bicketybam just did a install video about those CVD slider sets (AR310870), but I not sure if anyone has done a long term use review yet. If so maybe someone can comment.

Quick update

I took the axle assembly out and proceeded to strip the screw holding my broken axle in. So I ordered 2 standard rear axles. I did a bit of organizing and realized I have a servo upgrade that was collecting dust beside me. I'm currently using a Savox 0230MG (.13/111.1oz) and will be switching it for a Savox 1210SG (.15/277.7oz). I'm curious to find out if I will be able to feel a difference in steering. I should get the parts to fix it this coming week hopefully.

On a side note, I purchased everything required for a Tekno SCT410.3 build:D. I should probably start a thread on the Tekno forums for it.
