Let this be a warning to traxxas

The emaxx I used to have twisted and snapped multiple drive shafts on the 3rd run on loose dirt and that was brushed...

Out of the box, no flippin bs 150$ upgrades, stock Slash 2x4 is 190$ with 100$ of upgrades to make it bulletproof and insanely fun.
I just had to quote this one again.... This is the quote that just keeps on giving. Here we have what seems to be an obvious die-hard Traxxas FanBoi, in the middle of a rant on how awesome-balls his Traxxas is, even this fan boi extraordinaire has to qualify that that his $190 truck needs over half it's price again in upgrades to make it reliable, at 20mph...

This is just awesome... I'm LOL'ing....

I shared that same exact post with a few buddies of mine who i have turned from traxxas fan boys into arrma guys and the same response all around was is that guy for real. I mean i kinda feel bad for him. He doesn't know what he is missing oug on with the arrma lineup. I mean a quick search and you kind find videos of people do crazy things with arrmas that most people wouldnt dare to do with alot of rigs on the market these days. Only things i have broke on my arrmas were either my fault or from bashing in the great michigan winter.

Lmao. Arrma has been tough as nails for me! And im sure the kraton would perform great for you. But if you don't know how to drive or land on all fours, ahh then yeah at some point something is going to break! Thought that was common sense. Arrma also has traxxas beat in looks all the way. Arrma vehicles look phenomenal!

Ok let' compare prices. $499 gets u a beast outcast/kraton 6s 4x4 tough as nails 1/8 scale metal chasis and will do 60 mph!!!
Something similar in price from traxxas..... EMAXX about $450, 1/10 scale, plastic chasis, will not do 60 mph out of the box. Basically about half the truck the kraton is!

Not saying traxxas is a bad company. The only category traxxas wins against arrma is 1/5 scale. And that' bc arrma dosent produce one , yet. Is a matter of fact, i love the xmaxx and if arrma dosent hop on this soon then $900 of mine will be going to traxxas. I want an xmaxx bad!

If you're wanting a large scale monster truck then you should also take a look at the Losi MTXL. :D

Woodie you sure like that truck. I've been looking at it as well. Probably try to get a used one to convert to E when available as I've seen the conversations regarding Losi's intentions. Although if you buy new and immediately sell off gas components it shouldn't be too much more.

Good luck, hope u get u one.

A lot of you complain about the quality of Traxxas, yet, I get on here because I am interested in pusrchasing a V2/V3 Kraton and the majority of what I read is that right out of the box the differentials in the V3 need TLC to run 6s and that the servo/servo mount on the V3 is very weak right out of the box... along with the V1 Kraton catching on fire due to poor ESC's??? And to top it off trying to get parts for the majority of Arrma's line up? A little confused with all the bragging and advertising as Arrma being the ultimate RC. Oh, forget, lots of posts even here on the Arrma forums that that stock V3 Kraton transmitter is a pos???

Don't get me wrong, I want a Kraton badly...just confused on the Traxxas bashing. I own and bash 3 Traxxas Slashes and have had nothing but fun with them, especially my 2wd running 2.8 Badlands and 3s. Very cheap to run and very, very tough. My 13yr old has a blast with his Slash 4x4 HCG conversion running 2s and paddle tires. Any of these companies RTR vehicles are going to have issues.

As far as the lawsuit, who gives a Rat's ***, none of them would be in business if it was not to make a profit. I like the thought of owning an Arrma Kraton but please don't put Arrma up on a pedestal. I saw video of a Kraton being run in about 2-3 inches of snow on top of an asphalt parking lot and it was absolutely pathetic. Regardless if it was pathetic due to the driver or setup or a defective product, none of them are perfect.
esc. solved.servo mount not that bad at all... ive kept mine.never touched diff after 1 1/2 year. buy one youll see why arrma rules

My main senton 6s v3 has been running without a single broken part for over three months. No diff shimming. In these three months, I've put over $200 in parts into my wife's slash 4x4 to keep it on the road. fiddlestick Traxxas.

I think everyone that badmouths the Arrma lineup and praises Traxxas products should buy a 1/8 Arrma Kraton and an X-Maxx, both great trucks in their own right, just to see which one breaks more doing the exact same thing. Traxxas advertised the X-Maxx as indestructible, wrong, no RC Truck is capable of not breaking something from a bad landing or hitting something you shoudn't. Believe me, I know. Even a full size monster truck built with the best of everything will brake something eventually, it's the Law of Physics. And like a real off road truck, dirtbike or stock car, if you can break it, you better know how to work on it, which is part of the fun for me, or you should not be in a hobby like this.
Go Arrma

I've spent a lot of money on my Outcast, but that is only because I drive it like it's a rental.

I also spend a lot of money, on my Kraton, mainly because I can't see very well, lol. But I also spend a lot on my X Maxx, because my son doesn't have to pay for the repairs, o I guess you could say

Sucks for the lawsuit but if it would have never happened I don't think I would own 4 arrmas I was going to buy Traxxas till I learned about their lawsuit great marketing for arrma lol

I will admit I was a bit tentative in my purchase in December, but I don't think that I could be happier than I am with my Talion.

I've had only a few items truly break on me so far, but I've been really enjoying how open the work area is after you remove the side tubs.

Hopefully Arrma makes it out of this alive. I don't know what other company I could see myself purchasing from after enjoying my cars so far.

Most guys in the area have what the hobby store sells, 90% Traxxas, some Losi 1/5th stuff, some of the Vaterra vehicles, and some of the Ecx vehicles. I could walk in there right now and walk out with every single vehicle that Traxxas makes with spare parts too. Even some discontinued models like a brushed E Maxx with two 3000mah 7cell batteries.
They even have a sale going on right now buy any maxx truck and two id batteries and get the id charger for free.

My lhs doesn't seem to sell a lot of vehicles though, they still sell the Summits, Revos and E Maxx with the 3000mah 7 cell batteries.

Not enough people interested in the Arrma stuff around here, I run into people all the time who have never even heard of Arrma before.

I had to go to my lhs and request them to get arrma parts in their store. I told them that I have 3 arrmas now and I'm getting a talion as soon as I finish my maximus build. To show them I was serious I had them order rpm a arms front and rear for all 3 rigs and 3 43t spiral cut main gears. Now they carry arrma parts lol.

Ok, the OP is trying to compare a Traxxas Slash to a Kraton, which is in no way a comparison, but, how about this instead? His 2WD Slash against my 2WD Arrma Fury, since they are closer of a comparison. The reason i mention it is simply because of the comments about the durability of his Slash against the Kraton. My Fury has a Castle Sidewinder SCT, that, at one point, due to mistakes in gearing, was a bear to get to go in a straight line, but, a little feathering of the throttle, and it would go. I will admit, i have not been easy on it even a little bit. Jumps off 8 foot dropoffs, head on into a tree, a pole, and a few cars, blasting through weeds, water, and whatever else just happens to be in front of it, multiple flips and hard rollovers and, in the span of a year, i have broken exactly 2 parts, a front control arm from hitting a metal pole, and a rear arm from a bad landing. About a month ago, after finally setting it up with the correct gearing, i have had it measured at 36MPH (ok, so i am purposely keeping it mild, because my kids use it), and, i still beat on it, and, so far, the only damage i have done is to have a shim in the rear diff get bent, so, i had to rebuild the diff. I cant do a cost, as in how much i spent, vs how much he spent, because, i bought my Fury used, and it came with 3 boxes of parts, that the guy i bought it from expected to need, and, so far, i have only looked at those boxes twice in 16 months, but, after watching a couple local guys constantly breaking there Slashes with even what i call mild bashing, i will personally stick with Arrma, thank you very much.

What made you decide to blow the dust off this old post lol
