So I recently got the Outcast but I prefer the look of the Kraton. what would I need to do to convert the Outcast into a Kraton build.

Is there a guide that talks about compatible parts?

You don't need a lot of parts.
I think the Kraton chassis plate and rear center dogbone will do the job.

The body and the wing will complete te conversion.
Oh tha'ts really cool. SO the A arms and everything are the same?

Actually, you will also need body mounts, rear chassis brace and the Kraton top piece for the body support tower.

I've switched a rig back and forth a couple times, crman1964 has the addition pieces listed, if you get the chassis at an ebay chop shop for $20 the rest is only another $15-20 in parts.

Good to know, Thank you CRMAN1964 and Hotshot24mi. I think I'll wait till parts are in stock and the price has gone down And convert it.

Buy a Kraton...then you will have both beasts. That's what i would do if i had the money lol

I have both, i got lucky and bought them off of the offer up and letgo apps. Some sweet deals on there, be patient and keep fishing they cone out of nowhere, and then they disappear, gotta be quicker than the next.

With just getting back into the hobby and purchasing both the New E-Revo and the Outcast. I've decided just to build up this part of the collection. Since The revo has the truggied look ill just leave that as is and leave the outcast again. Don't need another vehicle that's hard to get parts for.

The body is the most expensive part. Other than that, need body posts, chassis plate, rear dogbone and chassis brace, center body mount, and wing. I switched my Kraton to an Outcast.

That's beautiful. Thank you for that picture. It gives me a good list to work from

I need to take my outcast apart. The pinion has come loose. It moves but still drives. Odd.

Hello DK99!
Re the pinion...
Although the end of the output shaft is round...
Most of the output shaft of the motor is flat.

So with the Allen screw a bit loose, the pinion gear will still not come off.
You have to back the Allen screw out more than it seems to get the pinion off the shaft.
I didn't trust the screw I took out, so I just used the one that came with the extra
"Top speed" pinion...

Be sure to tighten the Allen screw o the flat portion of the shaft.
I don't mean to insult your intelligence for such a simple repair...
I just thought if you were wondering why prior to being able
to work on your Outcast...

Have a good one!

Funny enough I actually bought the revo after the outcast

Not insulted at all. Even though I understand I still am looking to learn. The reason why its strange to me is that It wont come off and I was able to drive it threw two battery packs yesterday. Seems like when I bump it and it isn't motion it comes free.

I'm no longer driving it till I can get that fixed. The reason why I don't want take it apart right now is that Every single time I've tried to do the paper trick to mesh the pinion and spur gear I've literally Destroyed the spur. With how hard it is to get parts I'm not looking to replace anything else right now.

The other thing is I looked at the grup screw and its like it was ruined. It doesn't seem to fit any kinda hex wrench and that's how it came stock. So I gotta take it apart and see how I got screwed now.

Hey DK99...

That set screw takes a 2mm hex wrench.
I just checked mine, and the original set screw was a bit damaged,
but the 2mm hex wrench is the one...

When a I took a look at the parts list on the Arrma website, it mentions
that the 12 t pinion gear NOW comes with 2 set screws, and two places to put
them on the pinion.
I notice my 16 T pinion also takes only 1 set screw.
Having just one set screw, and it coming loose must have been a common problem.

I just slide the pinion gear to where it looks good from the side, and carry on!
Gears too tight will cost power & may hurt the motor...
Gears not so tight, giv er! Better a lil loose than a lil tight.

Keep in mind I'm an old mechanic, but a FNG with these Arrma Rockets!
I'm just sharing my .02 cents Cdn, which ain't much!
Good luck DK99!
I hope you're RC 4-wheelin asap!

If you like the kraton looks better then the outcast they are pretty much the same rig minus wheelbase but I like the kraton body more then the factory outcast body. So I bought a traxxas summit body for my kraton and I fit the kraton body to my outcast and it fits perfect. Granted you will need to adjust your body posts but I really like the kraton body on my outcast.

How much did the conversion cost in total. I cant find an outcast anywhere can only get kraton, so thinking of buying the kraton and converting it into a outcast.

I don't really know, as I was chopping up, buying, selling re-arranging at the time. I already had some of the Outcast parts on the Kraton, like side guards and wheelie wheels. Just add up all the parts from Ebay, breakers, etc.
