Arrma RC's
  1. Senton 6s
I just purchased an arrma senton with the brushed motor for my son's birthday. He had a blast with it for about 10 minutes, and now the esc flashes a red light and will not go. I tried letting it sit and cool for an hour, and brought it back out with a fresh charged battery and it went about 15 feet and did the same thing. Now whenever I turn it on it starts off blinking or just running for a few seconds. Steering never quits working. Can someone lead me in the right direction to make this 7yr old happy? Thanks.

Are you sure the battery is charged? Can you test it with a volt meter to know what the voltage is? For a 7c nimh, fully charged should be around 10.5v

I tested the voltage and it is correct. I just spoke with customer service and they said it sounds like esc is bad. What is a better esc for this model? I'm going to send the one I have back to be replaced, but 10 minutes off of a new one seems short lived.

The hobbywing 1060 is probably a safe bet. There are 2 versions, the newer one with more options for ($40 Amain) or the older version with fewer options ($20, Hobbyking)

I think I will buy one of those to put on and have the other for back up. I'm new at this, are there any other parts that I need to go ahead and order to have on hand at all times?

The only parts I hear of breaking on these truck are the diff input shaft, and the diff output shafts... There is a mod for the diff input shaft that uses a spare wheel axle. So that was my shopping list, those three parts. None have broken for me, but I did strip the spur, after I put in a strong brushless motor.
