I have the Kraton V2. I saved up for 6 months and got the Kraton V3. When it came out. It was worth the time , money and patience. The Kraton V3 faster, more durable. Turns better, and is just plain better and funner(you know what I mean) than the version 2 Kraton.
My question is should I save for another six months to get the 2018 outcast. Is it worth it or is my current outcast (2016 model) just as good or good enough with out investing in lots lots of upgrades. What do you think?

You can never have enough Arrma vehicles but that's going to be for you to decide.
The main difference between the two are going to be the upgraded shocks with 4mm shafts/higher spring rates and reinforced front and rear diff housings.

The only way your V3 Kraton is faster than the V2 is if something was wrong with the V2. They both used the exact same gearing, tires, motor and esc. I wouldn't argue about it being more durable and handling better.

Only difference between the 2016 Outcast and he 2018 Outcast is the reinforced bulkheads, square receiver box, and the shocks. Once parts become available again the shocks can be purchased from Jennysrc for like $50-60 and the bulkheads would probably cost you $20 if you wanted the upgraded ones. Kind of silly spending $600 instead of $80ish for a few upgrades.

Thanks for the info. I’ll follow your advice and purchase the upgrades.

Great responses here already...

I was going to say. Even if you sold your Outcast and bought the new one the money you would lose would go a long way to put some upgrades into your existing Outcast.

Even with the upgrades Arrma made to the newest BLX models people are still upgrading to GKA or Voltage servo mounts. Even though the chassis braces have been improved you are still better off with GKA or Voltage ones.

Not sure what is the easiest way to upgrade the shocks. I had to replace one of the 3.5mm shafts in my Outcast and if I could have I would have upgraded the rear shocks to 4mm if I could have. Not sure what shock options there are to upgrade the older shocks on Arrma BLX RCs.

Thanks for the insight ful information. With all the upgrades available and limited funds we have to pick and choose based on need and benefits of the upgrade. That being said, what are the benefits of upgrading the chassis brace. I’m wondering if i’ve Had any problems in the past that a good chassis brace could have prevented.

I have a few arrmas..most of them are V1 or 2..all stock..they work like a charm and i don't see me uogr to GKA servo mounts or braces..or towers..like a old racer i am, the major issiues normaly on rtr ar servos..but they do work good.. never bother if they have some issiues turning standkng still, its when ya run it counts

And on v3 there is no need at all to uog it if you ask me, i habe 3 of them and only Tower to tower brace is needed..a cost of less then 20$

If you snapoed the 3.5 shaft where the rod end ends, just replace it AND make sure to screw all ball ends above the thhreads on shafts to it stops..i did and cant even remember when i snapped one
