Hello everyone,

I have an internet friend who has the original red Arrma ESC that came with the Kraton. He told me last night that he has burned up quite a few batteries by switching between 4S and 6S runs. He stated that the low voltage cutoff doesn't seem to work.

Having no experience with this ESC, I'm unable to help him. As far as I know, it cannot be programmed. What is he doing wrong? Do any of you switch between voltages and have no issues with LVC?

When I had my BLX180 was also when I was still experimenting with 6s. I never did anything special, and never had any LVC issues.

My advice - tell you friend to send the BLX180 into Arrma, with a note saying he heard they were recalled due to fire hazard. Arrma will usally replace it with the BLX185 - a much better ESC.

Here's a few images I have of a long departed blx180 from 3 years ago:

As you can see, it turned into a grenade. Fire blew from the hole like fireworks. The whole ESC then separated from the casing. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of that. The deans connector also melted. Do your friend a favor & tell him to send it back to Arrma ASAP.
