hi just a beginner here my typhon wheel spins on acceleration how can I deliver more power to back wheels? and what are the standard diff oils used?

Howdy and Welcome!

To get more power to the back wheels, you can change the center diff to a thicker oil. Stock is 10k, I think. I run 125k in my Typhon.

Also, you will soon want better tires - the stock tires are a bit hard, and don't grip well. Lots of people will swap to something like the Proline Badlands, or Duratrax Lockups. I have some lockups, they really "Lock up" in grass cutting trenches in my lawn. The car scoots, though. :)

Man, just got my Typhon and the front tires ballooned so much the foam came out and they ripped from the rim. Is there a tire out there that can handle the power? I don't want to have to buy tires every week. I was off reading it in my yard.

For sure I'm with Jerry-Rigged. My Typhon was doing the same thing. I was ripping tires apart left and right. Then changed the diff fluids to 100k center, 60k front, and 20k rear and then shimmed them as well. Got rid of that problem completely on 4s. 6s is a different issue. I have run the lockup from Duratrax, and they do pretty well on grass, and dirt. Not so well on pavement. The Banditos from Duratrax had to be glued every time it ran. Not fun. I gave up on them after the 4th run when it ripped one apart completely. If you are looking to speed run, there are much better tires out there. Off road, I'm waiting to receive a set of Proline MC28's and wheel hub extenders to try out. But change those fluids in the diffs right away. There are many video's on how to do it. It's pretty easy after the first one.

IMHO, tire choices are one of the biggest drawbacks of the Typhon on 6s. There are truggy tires and MT tires that can work on 6s power, but for buggy and SCT tires, there just aren't any choices for offroad (that I know of) that will last.

If you want to stay on-road, there are belted road tires that work, but offroad, you are kind of SOL.

^^^ What he said! :banghead:

All right all you throttle jockeys... I have been able to save some tires by turning down the punch and brake settings. 6s is a huge amount of power for such a small diameter tire. The problem is they spin so hard and fast that things just tear. I love 6s but tend to use the power when already moving. It helps a lot especially if you have already done the diff oil. Cheers and bash on!

P.S. the lockups are great tires and will leave awesome tracks through your grass, or gravel, or snow, or sand... just not good for pavement. You will tear them up on pavement.

Im using proline badlands, hobbywing max 8 combo 6s 65c all the time its running around 62mph offroad. Im on the same set of badlands and have had np at all with them

Not a typhon but I have a senton with a set of SC lockup’s. It’s held up great. They stretch huge. It grinds against the body when ballooning. I put 1M in the center diff. It made a dramatic difference. I do have 2 small cuts in the sidewall of one tire. It hasn’t got any worse so far. I’m not geared up to 60mph. Prob closer to 50. Body parachutes and it tries to lift off.

???? I just bought my Typhon 6S BLX. Then I saw that post.

Stock setup is f/r 7k cst and center 100k cst
