I just had needle nose pliers slip and go through my fingernail right in the middle (not the most pleasant feeling),
While the same finger got a taste of body scissors just a few weeks ago, just under the nail.

I've also had my truggified Typhon hit my leg at high speed which left it funny colored for a while and the tbone bumper even drew some blood through my pants.

A while ago while testing things on the bench I had a ballooning tire give me a bad burn on the arm.

What about you? How has this hobby tried to kill you?

I ran a 3/4" drill bit into my finger once when drilling a hole in a piece of wood so I could have a pocket to hammer the a-arm ball ends into for my HPI 5B SS when I was building it. Was 2am and I had been building it since 7pm that evening. My brain was getting pretty stupid by then.

9 or 10 stitches, took forever to heal since it was right in the joint. One of the people I manage at work gave me a lithium 12V drill for Christmas for helping him out setting up his home theater. It was my first lithium drill and it bore through the wood way faster than I was expecting... completely retarded mistake. Also chipped the bone pretty good.

Also tore skin off my fingers breaking in my first LRP28:

Have also stabbed myself quite a few times over the years installing clutch shoes. Nothing like a tiny greasy screwdriver tip sunk into your finger 1/4". Takes an eternity to heal.

No pictures... HA!

I was holding a motor mount trying to use a screw extractor to get the broken screw out. It slipped and the bit went into my index finger

Not the smartest move

I have burned, drilled, cut, poked, stabbed my hands countless times over 30 years in r/c.

@olds97_lss not as good as you though - ouch

Was holding my car and went to give it a quick rev to check all was good, accidentally gave it full throttle, tyres ballooned and took a layer of skin off the top of my hand. 2 weeks later its finally healed!

I had a buggy on a home-made stand and did a full throttle, while keeping it in place to be sure it would't take off.....

Then I accidentally touched the spur with my index finger.... This left a nice burn (buggy didn't take off though :p )

I wasn't paying attention and grabbed the metal part of my soldering iron, dropped the soldering iron and burned a hole in my rug.

Definitely grabbed the soldering iron thinking it was a screwdriver (peripheral vision mistake) thought I changed my fingerprints forever :-O .. definitely a few ballooning tires burns on my hands.. and the usual stab and pokes and scrapes by random tools..

I've shredded my thumb up pretty good on the spur gear once.

I was troubleshooting steering issues on my Nero one evening.
Had it propped up nicely on a couple old tires on the dining room table. Girl was sleep in the living room mind you.

Checking through menus on my lynx 4s, I came across a servo check option. Seemed logical at the time, but should have known better.
What that feature did was basically go full forward signal to full reverse signal on all 4 channels...

Due to the nice visuals on the remotes screen, I had a millisecond of clarity before it all went to poop.

I was reaching for the front bumper to lift it off the table when the full forward signal ramped up,
ballooning the tires instantly, giving it enough tire height to grip the table top and take off. Putting my thumb right in the path of the roaring spur.

Lucky though really, it was positioned sideways on the table. You know, pointed right towards a window kinda thing.

I was making a dimple/start for drilling a hole through a "Hell for Stout" bumper on my FJ40. Tried to go ahead with holding the pin punch with my finger and thumb even though my vice grips were 12 inches away.
Took the 4lb sledge hammer and did a couple taps and then a full arcing swing and totally missed the punch. Instead, I hit and destroyed my thumb. Saw stars, got queasy, even the yelp I tried made no sound. Lost the nail after some weeks and the thumb has never been the same.

I was flying a walmart drone inside my house. Flew it straight into my head. I was looking right at it too.

Broken foot and massive soft tissue damage running my typhon at night... came out of the shadows at 48 mph and went right up my foot. All I was wearing was slippers. 5 weeks in a walking boot. Ouch.

Was there booze involved? It sounds like there was, lol.

I hit myself with my 5B before I realized that a 30lb+ vehicle with 2wd and 2w brakes takes some time to stop from WOT. Took my legs right out from under me. I'm a 250lb dude. The bruises and bumps/gouges on my shin were there for quite some time after that.
