I don’t know if you personally ever used the Typhon shocks on the Granite but do you have any idea what kind of spacers or part number to use for them so there isn’t so much slop when used with the Granite 4x4. I installed them on my sons Granite months ago and just realized how much play I have. Can’t be good. Lol
The spacers I used were a regular #6 washer from Menards & a piece of 10GA silicone wire insulation. In other words, anything that works & fits. It's not an exact science.

I used pieces of fuel tubing from my nitro trucks.

I just found some ancient nitro tubing in a box of old parts, about 4ft of the stuff. It works perfectly for the uppers. 3mm ID, 5mm OD.

I just ordered some nitro tubing today for this very use. I hope the stuff I ordered is the right size. Lol

The Typhon shocks are great on both trucks but are serious overkill for that platform. I ran them a while on my Granite until another project needed them. I replaced them with "HSP 81003 81002".

The whole set was $17 with a few colors to choose from. I got them for all 4 of my Mega's. They work well with 800-1K cst & don't leak at all.

I'm going to go ahead and order a set of these shocks from China for my Granite 3s BLX. Hopefully its the last set I have to buy.

Is the Nitro tubing what you used as a ball link in the top hole of the shock? I wonder if oxygen hose is the same diameter?

Yes, I used Velcro strips on both sides. It's simply window screen. Keeps out rocks and grass. Abit of sand gets through, but no biggie.

The length of the shocks is the same as the stock. The diameter i don't know ....

Larry, I have never seen that idea anyplace. I like it, simple cheap and it looks effective. It would definitely work for me, my question is how did you get the velcro to stay on the screen? Did you hot glue it or use super glue?

Just wanted to show the Senton Mega with a set of Typhon shocks installed. Certainly not the best cost mod, but since they were hanging around my spare parts box...

I put 27wt shock oil, and so far have left the preload at minimum.

I've been very happy with the results ...View attachment 15788 View attachment 15789

Are they rubbing the driveshafts? Did you do anything to limit the play in the shock cap area or is it not a big deal?

I bought a set of those HSP shocks for my Granite and their really soft, I don't care for them even with 50wt oil in them it always wants to nose dive when braking and when I turn one back tire comes up in the air they allow to much roll. On my Typhon 3s I went with Kraton for front shocks and Talion for the rear. I'm going to order another set for my Granite as soon as the price comes back down on used parts. If I could have found an entire set of Typhon 6s shocks I would have ordered them but we all know how that goes.

Do the Typhon 6s shocks bolt right on or do you need to modify them to fit

These are the only shocks i've found outside the typhoon shocks to just bolt right on. They need a washer or 2 on the top mount but thats it. They do have a defect where the plastic plunger inside the shocks on the rears arent punched all the way though, If you simply unscrew the bottom eyelet and pull it out of the shock, you can just with a razor blade open it up. Best replacements i've found so far.

I like your screen idea, I used solar screen for converting my Typhon sticker vents into functional ones. I'm in the process of working on ideas to keep rocks out of the steering and the next thing was a dust/dirt cover. What you did is what I was thinking of doing to my Typhon 3s. :)

@larrys4227 - Would you be so kind and post the link for the Typhoon shocks since I want to do the same upgrade to my brand new Arrma Granite BLX 4X4 Truck?

I would start at JennysRC.com but you can find them alot of places. You really don't want them for your granite though ... Senton yes, Granite no.
