Braided Fishing Line - Anti Ballooning

I use 80lb braided Spyder Wire fishing line on mine. Like BickeyBam, I wrap the tire four times and glue the knots. I also make sure the fishing line is between the lugs so it doesn't actually touch the ground to prevent it from wearing out. It does wear out over time but I've never had it come undone and get tangled around stuff.

My buddy puts large hyrdraulic O-rings over the tires and glues them with ca glue. It seems to work well but only works on tires with a straight opening down the tread lugs.
Interesting...size, source?

I’m real late to this thread !! But I thought I’d put in my 2 cents :) I had heaps of probs with ballooning badlands on the typhon it was uncontrollable with a 16t 6S the tires flapped around like pizza dough. I used mono 60lb fishing line, wrapped it around once with a granny knot and a dob of tire glue every knob. The mono line has a bit of stretch. I strapped them on the outer sides of the tires so I still had some ballooning for air control. They are the perfect tires for me now.
Cheers CAM :]

Lots of great advice. How long does the line last. Or does it work well because it rides under the tread??

I took all the info I read about doing this, and decided to try this. I'm sewing the line through all the lugs of my Badlands. It's 40lb braided line, and doubled because of the sewing method. Hard on the hands pushing through the lugs, but clean look in the end. Glued only the knots when done. Anyone think this might fail or if only doing the center lugs down the middle of the tire, won't be enough?

Works fine, but time consuming. I only sew under treads that don't have an open center ie. paddle tires

Thanks. It took a while, but I figured it might help with the issue that @Dutch213 ran into. Besides, with the weather the way it is this weekend, had a lot of spare time to get it done.

Lately we have been using hydraulic o rings. Very quick to install and so far hold up to 6s very well.
