Typhon Typhon and Sweep Road Crushers?

FYI I used those 2.8" prime tires on my Slash 4x4 and they were fun BUT they are about to pop after ~3 hours of use because rubber on the tire is worn down so much. To be fair I was doing a lot of intentional sliding but I don't think expensive street tires should wear out of ~3 hours no matter what kind of driving is done.

Now I have a Notorious (wearing Road Crushers) and Typhon ( stock wheels/tyres) here’s a couple of pics to show how daft I was when I asked the question.

You just saved me a bunch of money. Those are way too big for a Typhon.

Yea, they are big. Ordered up some badlands 2.8s, and Kraton axles to truggify the typhon. Already had the hubs in the parts bin as they were taken off the kraton for some hot racing gear. I'll keep it real on 2.8s. 3.8s look kinda cool though.

It is done. Ordered a bunch of goodies for the kraton, figured it needs a good overhaul so I took what I needed that I ordered to finish this thing.

BTW my trenchers fit also ??

The issue with 3.8s on that short of a chassis is it’s just going to flip. You’ll need 2 miles to get any speed going.

On the contrary.

Took it out with the sweeps on it today. Accelerated quite quickly, handled well in rough terrain, and also did quite well launching it.

I agree, a heavy trigger will make it flip easily, but being aware of this and using finesse I managed very decent.

I'm stoked, I will ultimately run the badlands but, this thing handles like a kratons pissed off little sister.

I like it.

I have 3.8 RoadRage tires and mine pretty much won’t allow the front tires to touch the ground on my Typhon 3S. Maybe the center diff helps here.

I rebuilt the center after the second run. It leaked and was clicky. Added associated 100k...

What I am finding most important and I am really trying to teach myself - is throttle control. I run 6s 45c 5000mah batteries on this and yea It WILL flip with this setup.

I had a feeling this thing was gonna go all outcast on me with this truggify change... - but I want a mix between... I don't want this to be an outcast, i don't want this to be a basher... I want this to be my speed, track, jumping finesse truck? ?The kraton is doomed every time I take it out... if I don't break something every other run I'm not hitting it hard enough.

I am not sure what diameter the tire you are running - the sweeps are smaller than stock kratons for lack of a better example... and I am sure you already know this.

Anyway, I a newb and green to this, just learning As I go.

Fun stuff!?

I was going to buy a set of Proline Road Rage 3.8 street tires but instead of reading a lot of reviews on these two different set of tires. I have made my mind up and will be grabbing a set of new Sweep Road Crushers for my #v3 #KRATON. What I love about these Sweep Road Crushers tires is they will not ballon on you... (EDIT) see video.

The Road Crushers are great on the Talion and Notorious. Sure they'd be the same on a v3 Kraton.

Edit: Unless they've been changed the Road Rage balloon a lot. The Road Crushers are belted so ballooning isn't an issue.
