General RC Information
Check the build thread for the most details I've shared. I like to include pics and videos as much as possible and I try to share details that I think are interesting or might help others out in the future.
I am new to RC in general, and haven't done anything quite like this before but I am pleased with my results so far. This is a work in progress, but is currently fully functional.
I started with a Typhon GROM BLX due to the strong stock parts, overall width (189mm), and cost. The Mojave GROM BLX would work essentially just the same (some slightly different dimensions, primarily with the custom driveshaft).
To summarize briefly - I chopped the chassis in half, extended it to 257mm wheelbase, and fitted up some magnetic mounts so it can receive standard 1/10 touring/drift style car bodies. I could install Granite GROM arms to go to 200mm width if needed for a car body too!
I really think Arrma needs to make a 1/10th street basher like this!
Here's a link to the youtube playlist with the latest videos I've made showing the build. Most of it is showing the vehicle in action. I have made some videos during the build process and will try to make a "full build" video sometime soon.

- Challenges Faced
- This is all new to me, so most steps were a challenge! The biggest difficulty was the driveshaft solution (ended up using a 5/32 Eklind hex tool which I cut to length).
