I have that same servo in my Kraton 8S. It performs quite well, Im just hoping it lasts a good long while. :)
I was so happy with it in my k8s I bought it for the dbxl too. Zero problems so far and it's been in my k8s almost a year now 😎 👍

Wouldn't touch those primal servo's with a 12ft pole.. absolute garbage imo.. I've watched 6 of them fail repeatedly, one of them smouldering and melting the wires right out of it taking out the rx.. just my experience with them..

Take a look at any raminator that has been used, dollars for donuts those servo's have long been replaced...

Take it with a grain of salt..

Interesting. Quality control. I must be a lucky one.

Do you run 8.4v with the Jx?

Yessir and zero problems for almost a year.

I actually have the primal in my outcast 8s too. Great servo, only reason I linked JX over primal is because it's cheaper and they seem identical to me performance wise. Now that I think about it though, I run the primal with the max 5 which can only do 7.4v max. Maybe it would actually be a little better at 8.4  :D

That’s nuts! That’s the first I’ve heard of this. I haven’t had any issues with mine but I’ll stop recommending them if that’s the case.

It was definitely crazy, I do not know if it was a bad batch of them or what.. Took place about a year ago..

First 2 pair went out within a few hours of use, warrantied through primal, last pair both went out with one of them smouldering.. primal then warrantied again but advised to add some money and get Thier high dollar upgrades.. problem went away..

I'm not trying to steer anyone away from them intentionally, just stating I'd personally never use them again..

wow, losing six of them, sounds like the problem was over-voltage or something similar. A friend of mine love these which prompted me to get a few (not the exact same size, but same brand.) I have used them in a few projects and had zero issues, though not under the same stresses as an R/C car steering servo.
if you watch the Beauty & Beast rc channel on YouTube, they catch crazy air and if they are breaking these, I’d be pretty confident in them. :)
