Hello Arrma forum I was wondering if it’s possible to put a 1/8 scale motor and ESC in the typhon 3s and what can length.

Yes it's possible. I believe you can fit the stock 6s motor (4074 size iirc) in the lwb 3s trucks. I'm personally running a 4068 size surpass motor in both a granite (swb) and big rock (lwb) with good results. You just need to get the appropriate kv motor and pinion for gearing.

FYI, the larger motors add significant amount of weight to the truck, especially a typhon.

My typhon 3s has a tp 4050 2100kv which is 4082 size and I have room to spare. I have the stock 150a spektrum in stock location but had to raise body post 1 hole.

Awesome I was thinking of putting a castle 1512 2650kv with a mmx 6s ESC how’d the be.

I’d be running it in 4s.
Even on 4s it is slow as molasses in February you gotta gear up. I had a Max8 and BLX185 motor in my Typhon I ran 1 pack through it and pulled it back out because it was so much slower and heavier than the 3s setup.

Get one of those hot racing slipper eliminators and then you can use a mod 1 42t spur gear or something. Thats exactly what I have in my Typhon and I run it on 4s and my typhon is QUICK.

All you gotta do is watch the first like 10 seconds of the video and you will see like 3 passes. Thats 4s on tp 4050 2100kv 27/42 With 2600+ kv you don't even need gearing as high as mine though.

Holy SMACKERS, dude!

Yep, that.

How'd you con your significant other into joining you in your hobby/mental disorder? I've been struggling for years and she won't even watch.
haha con! To be honest though I think I'm extremely lucky. She obviously isn't into them nearly as much as me. I think it boils down to the fact that she just really loves me. She enjoys being around me and I'm in the hobby deep at this point, so she has to partake a bit if she wants to spend more time with me.

I think it's a bonus that she can actually find enjoyment in it as well. She has grown to really enjoy flying the drone and working on our YT videos too. I chalk that up to her being an artist at heart and she gets to use some of that creativity when editing our videos. Her being a lot younger than me probably helps a lot too :ROFLMAO:

I'm definitely lucky she isn't the typical modern women. She is a tiny Asian girl who thinks 69f is cold af yet she will go outside with me in 35f weather so she can be with me when I get my RC fix in for the day. I love the hell out of her and thank the heavens every day for her being in my life. :ROFLMAO:

What would be ideal gearing for bashing though? I’d like around a 55mph pavement.

Thank you much for all the help so far.
And would 6s be a better route.
How would the plastic diff gears and driveshafts hold any need for the new exb metals ones of those.
