Arrma RC's
  1. Notorious
  2. Talion
  3. Typhon 6s
Got a 2 inch extended Fast Lane Machine chassis and brace kit for my Stampede, making the new wheelbase 12.63 inches. I also have the FLM aluminum transmission with a 7075 aluminum sealed diff with larger bearings than the stock diff that I bought and installed a few weeks back. It is a nice improvement over both the stock and Drag Slash transmissions, much quieter and handles 4s easily. Made a custom esc mount from kydex, looks like it will work and hold up well. I cut the RPM Slash front bumper a little shorter and drilled new holes so I have just enough room in the front for some 30g weights to help keep the front end down. Long screws and locknuts allow me to add or remove them fast and easy. With all 5 weights and my heaviest belted tires the whole rig weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces without body or battery.

Got it out for a bash today, love this thing! The added length with the front weights keeps the front end down enough to keep some speed over rough terrain. I could tell the turning radius was a little wider, but not an issue with 4s power on a 2wd to just whip it around. Jumps nice, nothing big today, but little 2-4 foot jumps over a dirt hill were smooth and balanced.

so...... that is no longer a traxxas... just sayin
This one started as a Traxxas before I replaced 95% of the parts over the last 20 months since I bought it. Now I call it my Fast Lane Stampede. :ROFLMAO:

Got all my parts to build an extended Bandit from scratch this weekend. It will be born into this world a Fast Lane Bandit! :ROFLMAO:

Dang! Might as well buy yourself a Tekno MT410 kit.

What matters is taking a hobby you love and making it your own. Custom stuff is the best and is sooooooo satisfying!

Or 2!!🤣🤣
But seriously, that's a Hella bitchin' stampede right there!! Surely a project of love for rc, cuz it makes zero financial sense!! I love it!!🤘😎🍻
I have similar aspirations for my recently acquired xl5 bandit..freebie from my bro. Bone stock right down to the wheel bushings!! LOL
Already got the vxl3s combo and 31/74 gears installed. Tested in the snow with 2.2 sand paws..pretty cool!!

Let's see....
I bought a 2wd slash and turned it into a monster slash.
A stampede 4x4vxl and turned it into a slash
A trx4 land rover and turned it into a bronco
An Outcast 6s and turned it into a kraton
And the list goes on.... I hardly drive these things. I just love to tinker

Very NICE!

About 10-12 years ago I built a full FLM Rusty. I picked up a set of custom carbon steel planet gears from Sunny Houston, the fastest guy in the traxxas forums at the time. I got it in the lower 90's on 3s with pizza cutting Anacondas and the stock Velineon "Feigao" motor. Still looking for those pics in my recently found RC pics off an old hard drive.

Just came across this thread, the OP's Stampede turned out great!! That's some nice work, I actually have been slowly piecing together a 2 inch Extended Chassis Fast Lane Machine Stampede over the last few years that I just finished building for my Nephew for Christmas. I ended up going with a very similar 76 Ford F-150 body, along with a FLM 2 Inch Extended chassis, combined with their Blue Limited Edition Super Tranny Case, along with their Super Diff. Here's a few mockup pics of the Chassis before Powdercoating🧐

Dang! Ur nephew sure is lucky to have such a cool uncle!! Wow! Some big ash tires there!! Looks nice, and powerful!!

Here's a few pics of the Chassis during the build, I was able to get my local Powdercoating place to match the FLM Extended Chassis to the Blue FLM Transmission case almost exactly(y)(y)

Thanks!! It's currently running a Hobbywing XR-8 Plus ESC with their 4268 2200KV G3 Motor and it's absolutely rediculous. Anything over 4S and all it does is wheelstand everywhere Loll. Once I tuned in the Slipper Clutch it's a lot more controllable now, but it still can sometimes be a handful. However it's a million times more stable than a stock Stampede with the extended wheelbase, and wider width(y) Here's some pics of how it sits now after everything's mostly done.

Awesome looking rig! And those tires 😲👍 Looks like something from JConcepts, what are those tires?

I do love my Stampede with the longer and wider stance. I run it on 4s every time and rarely roll it side ways or flip backwards. I did add 5 ounes to the front bumper to keep it down, so much power to spare on 4s and my temps rarely exceed 110 degrees. I love my Arrma 6s stuff but I still bash the Stampede more often...🤐🤣

Thanks!, the tires are JConcepts JCT 2.6's Part# 3147-01, along with the 2.6 Tribute Wheels Part# 3377B. I'm also running the JConcepts 25mm Wheel Spacers/Hubs Part# 2401 for some added stability/width, and to avoid any tire contact with the body. I added weight to my front as well for less wheelstands/backflips. I also haven't had to worry about any temp issues, the motor I'm running doesn't get warm at all(y)

Y'all are terrible influencers!! Just when I was content with my 1/8 6s 4wd rigs.. I'm kidding of course. These 2wd rigs are really growing on me, just the simplicity of them, lightweight and stupid fast!! I'd say cheaper too but with all the aluminum goodies, prolly not? I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the prices from FLM, they could easily fetch more..everyone else does. Kudos to them👍
