She was dancing with the devil!!🤣
It's def not tracking straight.. looks like some preload upfront would be very beneficial!!
It definitely seems to pull a little on throttle. Gyro definitely helps a ton though and I didn't realize I had it off until after I stop recording :ROFLMAO: Totally a bandaid though. I was thinking I would need to start changing wheel bearings or something.

I guess I worded it wrong, it seems to track straight but under power/braking you can tell she is loosely goosey up front, you can see it track both left or right when CG shifts or weight transfer.. I think some preload upfront would help a ton!! 🤔

I will try that out when I take it to the parking lot tomorrow. Thanks for the tip broham! I'ma need all the help I can get because I'm strapping the gps to it and we're going for broke. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, it sure does look like a handful. What do you think about those new GRP’s? Did you go full soft?

Those are the new xm2 medium compound. I also had the older XP3 endurance medium compound and the xp1 endurance soft compound.

I actually really like the new ones. Originally I had the xp3 endurance mediums on there and they have zero grip. Last long af though but yea tires spinning all over the place! the wifey loves them though lol.

I have the xp1 endurance soft on my talion and they are good. Probably similar to the new xm2 compound because I currently have the new xm2 on the mojave now and I like them A LOT more than the hard ass xp3 I was using before. Felt like a whole new truck with the spring change and tire change haha. I can actually accelerate now!!

I was talking about the Rovan. That thing mos def needs to hookup at least somewhat. I figured you tried the new 1/5 GRP’s on that.
And stop with all this “street Mojave” crap, will you? I‘m this freaking close to converting mine to street only! And why?!?!? I love it as it is, it’s a super fun rig. Why are you doing this? Leave me alone! 😂

Sadly the grps don't fit on the rovan as it uses regular 24mm hexes. Grps are some weirdo 18mm or something I don't know but the only thing I've seen so far that seems to fit 1/5th grps without an adapter is FG modellsport stuff. It's probably possible some how though as I tried my kraton 8s hexes on the rovan and they actually fit using the kraton 8s pin as well. The kraton pin is not big enough tho so it introduced some slop.

I'm thinking technically one could buy the arrma 8s 1/5th grp adapters from jbirc and drill the holes bigger to fit the rovan pins if they really wanted to.

Love this rig, seriously would love a 1/5 car.

But wow it has so many body clips...so that leads me to the next question.

What speeds could the Rovan reach? But that's kind of like asking how long is a piece of string right?

Also is there a power to weight sweet spot for a speed runner/basher?

Lipos are heavy, but what do those 12S lipos weigh?

And for all the extra power, is the weight kind of counter productive...or does HP and torque always win with an rc car?

I've recently subbed to Moirae's channel and really enjoying the footage of this beast...so thinking of maybe getting one for xmas...like 2025 🙏💪

Hoping Moirae does a rundown video, would love to get a closer look at it.

Hmm! all those body clips definitely suck lol. As far as speed goes, I did a small little speedrun a few days ago and the video will be posted soon. With 750kv motor I got up to 77 mph iirc. I believe it could have did at least 80 If I got better pulls/had more space.

I actually did some tuning, adjusted droop and shock preload and now the rig handles so much better. Wish I would have did the speed run after I did the tuning but it was before

I'm not that knowledgeable about speedrunning and still super noob so I can't really answer about weight to power ratio in speed running. What I will say though is the weight of this rig is actually one of the main things I like about it. It drives like nothing else I own and the weight plays a big role in that. Driving this thing up and down the street I feel like it's a real car. It's hard to want to drive anything else now If I'm being honest.

It's also a lot harder to stop this bad boy when it's moving fast lol. Every other rig I own I can pretty much just smash the brakes and be okay if I want to. On this rig if I smash the brakes this thing will slide 10+ feet before it stops. Definitely better to ease into the brakes but the feeling of the weight and momentum is just so awesome.

Thanks for the sub by the way!! we really appreciate it.(y)

Is it much heavier than your Infraction fully loaded?

I read Rovan are an American company based in NYC?

I also read the Rovan has dual servo steering, whats that feel like compared to other rigs you've driven?

You deserved the sub, i use a different user name on YT to here.

All the best with it amigo, looking forward to seeing this rig of your's tear the tarmac up. :devilish::geek::cool:(y)

Apparently the infraction with body is 11lbs according to arrma though I'm sure my infraction weighs a little more than that since I have a big block. The rovan without body is 28lbs. That's a big difference and it only increases when you add lipos. Even if you run 8s on the infraction you're looking at over double the weight as 8s lipo don't weigh as much as 12s.

For steering, I'm actually only using 1 servo for steering. The servo situation was a little tricky for me at first as no one tells you that it takes a 1/5th scale servo but the length can't be longer than 60mm. Every 1/5th scale servo I've seen is a few mm longer than that. When I got the rig my servo wouldn't fit and I didn't know wtf I was missing lol. I had to ask a few people on youtube who had the car what they did. Basically told me I needed to hack it up so I got my dremel and shaved off a few mm from the servo tray and boom it fit like a charm.

There are also adapters that allow you to use the 1/8th scale servos but I don't think rovan sells them. I didn't know about them until I got my MCD a few days ago and it came with a few of them. If I was to do it all over again with what I know now I'd probably try to buy that mcd adapter and just use a 1/8th servo in the rovan too. It's easy, requires almost no modification and my cheap aliexpress 80kg servo is amazing and probably better than my 1/5th scale jx servo! it sure is faster.

I'm pretty sure Rovan is a chinese based company but have an office or warehouse or something in new york. It might be the Us branch of Rofun? I'm not sure but I know rovan/rofun are like the same thing.

Damn she's a heavy one, but obviously well made and will last a long time.

Oh Rovan are from Chyna..well heck what isn't these days. ;)

Appreciate the reply many thanks.

Spent tons of time installing a bunch of metal upgrades today. Metal tie rods, bellcrank, and steering links?. Metal hub carriers front/rear, Metal arms f/r (first time for everything!) , Metal top brace, changed out the rovan hubs for MCD hubs and changed out the rovan shocks for MCD shocks all around. MCD shocks are so much better, so much smoother!

I can't wait to test this thing with all these upgrades. I actually still have an upgrade left to install but sadly I apparently need another upgraded piece to install it and I didn't know when I ordered it from china so RIP. Back to waiting on china shipping :ROFLMAO:
