Last night I decided to start installing gp5 diffs..started on that, walked by crashed xl typhon on shelf enough times.started taking it apart and wheels started turning..inspected all parts an decided to put narrower senton 6s gp5 diffs out of xl on the XXL instead.wanted To try out new 1/5 grps so I put 13/43 diffs on xl an will try some street bashing an drag gearing with grps...
BTW 1/8 grps=85 grams
107mm hoons=180 grams
1/5 grps= 227 grams making them to heavy for 130+++ mph speedrunning.
700+ additional grams of rotating mass would overwork any system quik at the speeds im wanting to go.ive turned gazebo into a temporary rc shop...picking up where i left off..lol.back to work want to run cars this weekend.

Me being a major POWER JUNKIE im always thinking about morre....so I'm wanting to here @LibertyMKiii opinion on running parallel??????with the extra weight is there really benefits to running this way?
I imagine it depends on setup,,,,WITH MY SETUP,,if I ever got to the point where I wasn't progressing after many changes ...an I put 4×4s packs on this would I really y see much gain?????this is F-N CRAZY!!!!!!!!!I want to try it!!!!!!!!can I,,,can I PLEEEEEEAASE.......lmao
Seriously this would be nuts,,24,000mah, 5.5lbs!!!!!!
BTW these are 6000mah packs they put wrong labels on,gotta deal on um..

Alright little behind on updating thread..so after installing 5660 1460kv an some 4s an then about 10ish 7s and 8s pulls ive hit 140mph today, wasn't expecting a pb today, but some reward after a lot of cussing, turning screws, thought, mindchanges, moolah an a couple crashs its nice to progress..
In the 6 months I've done lots of research, read lots of old post, ytube ,questions to alot of you guys, etc ive learned alot...I. totally hooked on S-RUNS.at first a thought anyone could go out there with 500$ rc throw some tall gears in it an run 200mph....NOT THE CASE WHATSO EVER.. math, physics, science, laws of gravity, aerodynamics,etc..so much thought just into different lipos, mah,c rating, resistance, weight an size of packs,connectors...etc
Then ya got tires, motors, escz, shocks, diffs, etc ,etc,etc..there so much to learn, and still learning...so throuout next couple days I'm gonna share what has helped me reach 140mph.just the things that helped me most...
I'd say the one most beneficial thing for me has been the radiolink rc6gs .in the settings, steering speed was a game-changer for me with controlling car at speed and turning around 1600+feet up road.with steering rate turned down i used to have to make at least a 2 point turn-around an on 8s an barely seeing car it would end up in spinning out and into ditch alot😡😡😡.#5 setting is steering speed.with it setup like this helped me alot.it kept car from getting outa control with barly touching steering at speed an can turn around down road without having to back up.very rarely do these typhons I run get outa control.they are more piont an pull..ill be side to side sometimes in beginning an most would lift, try leaning into it more an they straiten out. With more throttle. I think the fully locked up diffs are the reasoning behind it.hammer on it an all 4 pull hard keeping it strait until traction is lost.
The next best thing for me was setting up the drag brake on castle link correctly.diffrent gearing affects setting.at end of run all I do is lift,I let drag brake stop car.when cars moving that fast an its time to stop,to much brake you crash ,no enough brake you crash.seeing the car down road an being able to judge speed of car down road is hard an I crashed alot trying to slow down until I started using this.locking brakes up don't slow it down very fast an
destroys tires.my setup right now is at 65%drag an a fast ramp-up.works great.will be making small aero changes to car an running in am for a cleaner pass with same gearing, expect 140-143...smaller wing, little lower,.did this to xl typhon an will do it to this car also.heat-shrink upper arms for less turbulance.go the idea from a post LibertyMKiii shared about when ya start getting up there in mph,its the small things that will help ya progress.its these little things that I enjoy dreaming up.so work ,most don't.....

Got some more goodies for xlx2...powerhobby 12v fan and a scorched on/off power switch holder.went up 1 tooth on pinion from 140 pb.will run in morning.

Have you thought of trying to run the same gearing more than once as odds are you can still pull more until log shows no rpm gain etc. I kept same gearing and ran from 135-138mph just a suggestion as also will save having to switch pinion every single pass. Also why not make sure you've squeezed every possible mph out of the gearing as throttle pull can effect top speed big time as well not just adding a tooth.

No time for that,,,im on a mission,im climbing fast,im going for #1.....
1 month old xlx2. Stock Fan destroyed.powerhobby fan barly fits under body.im gonna push these typhons to the top or or into a firey crash..whichever comes first.

I did run 3-140s and a 137 with 39/34 before this 40/34 im trying in am

You wouldn't believe the difference in xlx2-5660-1460kv compared to mmx8s and any 40mm motor ive tried.the torque throws car to max rpm effortlessly with less than a .50 volts of sag.thr 140mph passes where a walk in the park for this system..its WAY undergeared from what logs are saying.my last 140mph pass was over 4100ft an was running 140mph easy.trigger pull isn't a concern to this system yet.could pin it hard run 140 no problem.

I’m hoping I can get a hit or two in tomorrow morning if weather holds. I been busting my ass all week at work and need some time behind the wheel.

I'm telling ya,,been working in the heat all week...im gassed.
Well good luck bro I'll slowly be working back up soon.
It wont take you long to pick up where you left off.for me confidence to make a clean pass has been a thing for me..now that I have a GOOD spot the confidence is there for me.time for me to HAMMER DOWN
I'm really rotting for you 2 to make some good passes and good #s.im confident u guys will have some GOOD upcoming runs...👍👍👍👍

Same here buddy. Either in the sun or up in a hot ass attic all week. Can’t wait for a day off.

Well hey at least I'm smoking you on the drag hits😂 second time trying today and pulled a 1.29 with the stretched Typhon Spektrum 150A TP 4060-cm CNHL 6s pack🤘

Ya I don't know maybe if I get bored but I don't have another ESC for it like the MMX8S that I'd need. Maybe when I can get an XLX2 I'll put the MMX8S from the Lim in it and give the stretched Typhon a shot as I got to 125 with the SWB Typhon GT. Not too bad though only second time ever trying, also first time trying the 188ft and best was a 3.19 but I have suspension set for bashing too so I lighten it up should hook better I'm thinking.

You solder work looks a bit sketchy
Ya I layed it on thick..lead free is hard to work with...see if it'll hold..im more concerned about loc-tite holding...just found and replaced front ring bearing on diff.contiplating not running xxl.
I figured you would enjoy this comparison more than anyone..see what happens.im bout ready to head to spot.rounding everything up.ill try both, fix issues and go again sun morning.ill be quik to pull plug on runs today.
I looked up the 5660 1460kv to snap a shot of its stats on tp usa site..all sold out....lol
Just hoping for 1 good pull on each typhon👍

Leadfree can and will become brittle when it's not been heated enough. Looks like that's the case. At least give it some cable shrink so people can't see ;)

When the center axles vibrate it's not weird to see a bearings shatter like that. Those bearings might just be a consumable in our setups

I caught this one in time ,last one waldered out diff housing....this is all still new to me.ive got alot of mistakes to make still.(ALOT OF LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES)...😅🤣😂
