Ok I bought an already customized fireteam. I have not taken apart to find brand but it is a 1475kv motor. Still has stock esc. Ran ir with gps and only got like 47MPH. I have been reading up on posts about voltages and high temps. Question is should I be looking to upgrading esc to get most potential out of this motor and keep temps down. Motor pretty warm and batterys seem to be warmer than they should be. I also run on 3s or 4s alot so my son can drive it more. Any direction or info would be great. Thanks.

im going to probably take motor out tonight or in the morning.

Here are pics of motor.

Okay that motor will work just fine. Looks like 4282 size.

I’d honestly just leave it all as is. The stock ESC might be fine with that motor geared to 47mph as you have it now.

The only change I’d make is turning the ESC timing down to zero degrees. The stock setting is way too high for this setup.

Thanks. I just got programming box. It will be it's madein voyage

That motor should do just fine, better than stock I'd bet. Needs more gear if you want it faster, shouldn't be a problem. Keep an eye on temps. I'm running a 1450kv 4274 in my K6 with 20t pinion and race tires. Hobao 6s RTR esc. Gets along just fine for me. With stock sized tires I'd probably be using a smaller pinion..
It might just be my best running 6s rig TBH, never gets hot, longest run times I've ever gotten from my Zeee 5200's. My K6 is a mutt indeed, LOL.

I show 18tooth pinion. Stock tires and yes she runs really warm. Probably don't have best fans. I have stock motor brand new with fan. Probably gonna throw that one on.

18/50 gearing with a 4282-1475kV can should have no problem with heat on 6S unless you're wide open the entire bash on a 90+ degree day, check for drivetrain binding and that motor bearings are smooth.

Also, "hot" is subjective so grab an IR temp gun. What feels too warm could be normal 130-150 degree operating range.

$199 retail :ROFLMAO:

Ok I was showing 140s. So prob just being a little over cautious. Gonna check her and let her go. I do rum it on 3s alot so should be fine. Only run 6 when we actually have room.

Agreed on all points. Including the retail on the CEN motor, LOL. Also worth checking where the timing is set as @dure16 mentioned, aggressive timing will definitely heat up the motor too.

.. and I must have thin skin, 130f feels quite hot to the touch for me, but nothing to an electric motor, LOL.

DO NOT take this to buy anything. I stole this advice from RC Dude81...of course, I am not him. What he ran in his Fireteam for speed and temps. He recommends it for his usage the Hobbystar 4092 1480kv for the FT after running the 4082 2000kv got too hot. This is RC Dude. He was running a 23T pinion, tho!

I added the Hobbystar 4092 longer can for temp with 1480kv. Dude, did it wake up after the stock 2050kv and run fast and with good temps. I run that at 18T, all I need. Cheap motor, but it runs damn good. Guys at RC Juice like the older 4092 over, the newer 4292 based on the email they sent me.

Nice long motor!

I like those cheap 4092s as well. Just don't try using one with that stock ESC @Tbalzan
