Hiya!

As above, looking to fit some 17mm hexes to the Big Rock.

The most expensive way would be to order the Typhon parts and fit those.
A simple 17mm adaptor kit would be around half the price.

Could someone please explain the advantages and disadvantages of both options?

I don't mind paying a little more for a stronger, more durable solution.

Thanks in advance...
Pete.

Better tire selection. Also might need a little offset to clear the hubs. The typhon hexes has no offset and some wheels will rub.

Yes, greater tyre selection is the reason for the change to 17mm

So the hex adaptors will give me greater offset?
Thank you.

Any disadvantages to the 17mm hex adaptors as opposed to buying the stock Typhon 17mm parts?

Title now edited, doh!

I have 17mm hex’s for my BR but personally now i think I should have gotten 12mm hex’s as most 2.8 size tires are 12mm hex.

If you don't have any offset. If you use monster truck tires. It will rub on the hubs. Buggy tires should have no issue.

I first bought Traxxas 5353 (no offset), but they have a bit larger diameter at the ends (outside end). They are maybe ok, but since I was not sure I
decided to buy the Arrma Thypon 17mm parts. I use Louise Uphill wheels and they got 1/2 inch offset.
To much offset is no good, will just add more stress to the car. But same with big heavy wheels for sure.
