Sup!

This is my 2018 Typhon 6s. I think it's basically a V2 that was set up for speed runs before I got it.

It came with:
• An 18T pinion
• Limitless white hoons
• 15mm hex extenders
• A 12-14 LED multi-pattern light kit
• RPM front bumper
• Rear wheely bar
• A really quick Futaba S9372SV servo
• 2 Power Hobby 50c 3s Batteries
• Tactic TTX300 transmitter

I like the way it handles, but sometimes I like to off-road bash so the 15mm hex extenders gotta go. Feels like they throw off the geometry & are killing wheel bearings . But that could also be from the Mojave wheels/tires that I run sometimes. I've had to replace the wheel nuts because the ones that came with the extenders would come off one to many times.

Lately I've ran into some issues with the old Futaba servo going out (I'm gonna miss that lightning response) & the center diff pretty much melting the mounts. I did curb it once at full throttle on the left front, so new upper arms went eventually needed.

So far I've added a 2 Channel RC Light switch, replaced the servo with an Amazon 35kg special that required me to shim the servo mount for it to fit. Servo arm is just about in the same place, but it's still slightly taller. Not as quick as the Futaba, but it will do.

Next came the later versions sliding motor mount and necessary accessories. But that roasted diff melted the composite front mount of the center diff.

GPM Alloy Front center diff mount & Hot Racing Aluminum center diff brace/cover are on the way

My plans so far are to:
• Stockpile street tires
• Widen the track with Mojave EXB control arms & CVDs all around.
• Use Aluminum Kraton Hubs, CVD axle ends & Hexes.
• Upgrade to an Infraction 46t spur center diff with an aluminum diff case, proper shims & 500k-1mil diff fluid
• Rebuild & shim front & rear diffs with aluminum cases & spiral cut gearsets (Maybe 29mm LSD diffs)
• Install Castle BEC and up the voltage to the 8.4v the Tactic 326 receiver & new servo can handle.
• Raise the rear body mounts slightly for more space & cooling
• Redo & replace the front LED lights & reroute the wiring
• Rebuild the rear shocks because I suspect one shaft is bent.
• Replace rear shock tower that is know is definitely bent now.
• Install another bumper or skid plate on the rear.

I'm not into sending TAZ to the moon yet, but when I get to that point I'll look into a new chassis, Front & rear braces.

Let me know what you think.

Eventually I'll get another RC for off-road bashing, but I'll be methodically upgrading this rig over time, having a blast, a few fits, bouts of cursing, ect. along the way.

This was the servo I bought, it was $20 at my door the next day. But required some shims between the servo mount & the chassis.

29MM EXB limited Slip Center Diff is in from JennysRc. It's a 50t because I haven't found any options for it yet. I'll run it a little & check the fluid to see how it's holding up.

V5 Sliding motor mount, Hot racing aluminum top cover brace & GPM front mount for the center diff are installed.

Also got a set of med hard compound GRPs to hoon around the street in.

I need to shop for some lipos. I think the PowerHobby 3s 50c packs are a bit worn down.

And with new lipos, new connections for the ESC & BEC wiring will come. I wonder if a cap pack is worth getting...

Got some 100c 3s HOOVO 5200 mAh packs & now once the GRP S7s warm up, she wheelies on street tires!

Well she did... 1st set of GRPs are done. So are the Mojave tires...

Need to find some 100c 4s lipos for off-road bashing. 3s just isn't enough & 6s bashing has lead to more broken parts including:
Rear lower arms
Front steering blocks
Front diff bulkhead
Front shock caps
Tires (of course)

Also I've done some lighting on the cheap...
L.E.D. Christmas lights are abundant this time of year, so I got a set of white for $3, cut 2 off the set & wired them up routing through the front shock tower...
Zip ties are my friend. And now I have 50+ spares that are easy to replace!

Also I had some leftover red Brake light L.E.D.s that didn't work too well in my Chevy. So I wired it up, bypassing the internal resistor & have it controlled by my 2 channel switch via channel 3 on my receiver.

So this diff gear is actually warped...

So now I'm looking at gearing options. I'd like to have 29mm EXB LSD helical cut gearsets for the front & rear. But I also like the speed gearing of the infraction.

So, things kinda came together after I got some music going & pulled an all nighter.
And still it's just thrown together for a shakedown run.

But the old BLX 185 isn't powering up the receiver anymore. I was planning on upgrading to EC5 or IC5 connectors anyway. And that's what came on the replacement.

Time to get to soldering up new battery connectors & the Castle Creations BEC.

Still need to wire up the lights & decide how I wanna protect the chassis. An aluminum rear diff case maybe be in the near future as well.

The wheels/tires are GRP 1/5 scale mounted on @Justbashitrc14 18mm Square hub adapters.

This is an ever changing build.
Latest changes:
• Temporarily went back to Typhon arms & CVDs in the rear because of some rear end carnage
Aluminum lower hinge blocks with delrin inserts front & rear
• Mojave EXB steering setup from @JennysRC
• EXB Upper hinge pins to go with the upper rear aluminum hinge block.
• #EMperfomance ⅕ 18mm square hub adapters for when I want to run the ⅕ scale GRPs (I need a 2nd rig)
• Silver Felony Rear Hoons all around for general street bashing.
• 40mm x 28mm Server fans & aluminum mounts for the Motor & esc.
• Shock boots as CVD boots (experimental)
•6mm #GPM Mojave CVDs with Kraton ends for the Kraton front & rear uprights.
(This may change as I got a great deal on some #Vitavon uprights but for the Typhon & variants)
• Kraton rear Springs for rear shock rebuild.

CVD boot Idea kinda worked out, but I've abandoned it for now.
Aluminum Mounts & AVC server fans installed. Kept temps in check during my gymkhana street bash.
Had BEC voltage adjusted to the 6v the reciever can handle, but i plan on swapping to another Tactic TR326 So I can up it to 7-8v

Guess I should update this...
DumboRC gyro receiver
Old school BLX 2050kv motor
Blx185 ESC Because I keep roasting spectrum 150s
Castle monster x 6s coming Soon.
224mm wing
Maybe 3Drc low wing mounts to replace the RPM mount... It's not broken just a style change.
Grabbed one of the last TBR chassis protectors.
a new 2018 blue body soon
and finally tires/wheels. Lots of options on deck.
Stock dBoots Katar Bs & GRP street tires are my favorites. But cheap Amazon buggy tires & wheels seems to work out well for me...

I'll post my Outcast 4sv2-to-Kraton build & Kraton 6s-toTalion EXB Build soon.
