Hello everyone

I'm new in the forum, and bought my first decent rtr. Big rock 223s, is there a fix for the consistent lvc issue. Kinda disappointed being it's brand new today. Thanks for any input

Normal to get 15-25 min from an average lipo.

Yes, it depends on the MaH rating of the battery. The biggest you can fit the better.

As said above, you'll want to run the highest current rating you can fit. LVC is really important. Really bad things happen when a lipo gets too low.

I only run above 40 deg and with Gens A batteries and have not experienced this issue on 5 different cars. My guess is it’s sensitive to voltage sag, so higher quality batteries should help.

Yup, the battery. I get less than five minutes, then i have to turn off the esc and turn it back on. Then i get another 3 minutes. At this rate I'll wear out the clipless body mounts

What battery do you have? Voltage, brand, c rating?
Your symptoms are classic poor quality lipo. Or faulty lvc.
Most any cheap lipo that's 7200mah should have zero problems in a 223, unless it has a bad cell.

I was just thinking, about voltage sag,i noticed it happens under high torque it high throttle. Guess I'll bite the bullet and get some spektrum batteries. Any recommendations on quality brand batteries?

What are the IRs like of your battery?
brand? C rating?
What temperatures are you running in?

I have a pair of 2s Zeee 5200mah and I charge them @ 2C and tried to get the IRs low as possible. Best I could do is 4.5 milliohms per cell. Huge and terrible voltage drop issues. I was running a HW BL120 esc so I just turn off my LVC and send those batteries.

If it is voltage drop its either because of the temp outside, high IR, or a defective lipo from the factory. I have other brands ranging from CNHL to SMC to Hoovo and I only had voltage drop issues with these pair of Zeee so. It was my first Zeee branded lipos too.

7200mah should get you atleast 20-30 minutes run time at best and even at average so.

You can turn off LVC (if the ESC has a setting where that is allowed)

Well to me im experienced and I notice a power drop when the battery hits around 3.8v/cell so I just take the battery out and recharge. And/or run a lipo cell checker/alarm, double side tape the alarm in the car, and that will let me know when it gets to a certain point.

Saw it was an issue with a few YouTubers, which is pretty alarming since that's a small sample size with a significant rate of problems. I purchased a Hobbywing ESC along with my Vorteks and ended up getting a motor shortly thereafter since the HW ESC and Spektrum motor didn't like each other.

Well, here's the solution that worked for me. Went down to the hobby shop got a pair of spektrum 3s lipos, hasn't happened again. At least until it's supposed to. At least the zees and ovionics, will make good for starters this summer. Always nice to have a noxious bin fire.

Maybe I'm cynical, but perhaps that's what's built into the ESC? Cheaper to can it for an aftermarket ESC with better specs and features and use batteries that are already on hand than play the silly Spektrum games.

Already ordered a castle set up.. Im just gonna run it till it burns out of i get to impatient looking at the castle. Probably sooner than later, them i can use my better TX.
