The 4985 1650 motor is rated for 6s use maximum, the 1100 and 800kv motors are rated for 8s but then you’re moving to a larger 56mm can. What ESC are you using? That would have to be rated for 8s as well, of course. I believe the 4985 would run crazy fast on 8s just before it fries.

Question how about 1650 kv 1717 cc motor is 8s good for it I noticed high temps no matter how much I let it rest

Could get a outcast/kraton 8s motor, 4685/1250kv. They are intended to be run on 8S.

I just got the HW 4985/1650kv for my kraton to try out with my max6. I had a 4092/1650kv in it, so will be interesting to see how the larger OD/shorter length motor does.

If you replace the HW 4985 bearings with better quality ceramic ones it will survive 8s.

Been running one on nothing but 8s for 2-1/2 years now and never a single issue.

You ever been out bashing and have the throttle pinned wide open and thought, “ I wish I had just a little more”? That’s what I built this for.
I’ve only ever hit full throttle once and it completely shredded 3 out of 4 backflip LPs 😀

The mount will accept 2x30mm or 2x40mm fans, I went with 40mm. I had time to wait when I ordered the stuff or I would have gotten the surpass-usa 40mm fans to get them more quickly. Pretty sure I ordered a couple extra fans just in case as I never tried this particular fan before. They push quite a bit of air when running on 7.2V off the max6. I got a couple of the 30mm fans to of the same brand to have on hand.

I'm only intending on running 6S with mine. Hoping it allows me to gear up a bit more than the 4092/1650kv. I ran 19T pinion on the kraton with it, but installed a 21T with teh 4985.

I'll look into those bearings. I replaced the ones in my 4092's and blx4074 motors with ceramic hybrid TRB bearings. Will see what I can find for 6x19x6. I'm assuming it uses 2 of those, same size on each end, right?
