More for newbs..
I have had a couple of these for about 4 months. They seem to do ok with the 550 motor if you race and keep it clean and oiled. May break motors fast when bashing as I found out. Need to drive better lol.
Nimh isn't so bad. And gives them more power than 2s... yeah. A bit of a drop before it runs out... but whatever. I use 4200 to 5000 mah batteries. They go for 15 to 20 mins or so And decently fast Racing in short cut grass. May help make the motor last longer too than lipos. don't make them 4x4 unless you go brushless.
I find them to be just fast enough for what I use them for Now.. I did add a 3s brushed esc which I feel helps push more power through than the standard esc it comes with and almost seems it goes faster... but not near as much as a 3s battery which gives it way more torque and a little more speed... but will wear the motor down faster
I'm waiting for a new 550 motor to come that should handle 3s... 16 dollars... (I'm just having fun.) Is the theme here. Keeping blx stuff for later.
good to relearn with, or learn with as well... as they were made for. Easy to work on...
Haven't really broken anything myself. Other than break 2 motors after bad landings off a jump. My kid manages to break shocks. Don't know why or how. Is what it is. I drive mine way harder and more often and it's been fine.
I can't see my kids handling much more as they still run them in 75 percent mode. Trigger control isn't their thing
All I got for now...
