This is my first of probably many noob questions. I'm building out a Typhon TLR 6S Roller. In the ordering components stage, now.

There is this bundle: https://www.horizonhobby.com/produc...o-battery-ic5-2-s2100-charger/SPMXPSS650.html that I am looking at. It's a 6S charger but comes with two 3S batteries to complete the bundle.

So, does that suggest that you can run two 3S batteries in series or parallel to get 6S and, if so, will they fit in the space of a 6S battery?

If not, why are they bundling 3S batteries with a 6S charger?

Thanks!
Mark

2x 3s batteries in series = 6s. Parallel connection increases the mAh but voltage stays constant.

2x 3s 5000 mAh batteries will fit in the Typhon battery tray.
Thanks! So, if the other specs were equal and running them in series, is there any advantage to using 2 3S batteries over 1 6S?

6S
Faster charging time if you don't have a dual port charger. Less wires and connectors to the ESC.

3S
If you have 3s rigs..can use the same battery.

Can't think of anything significant.

Sadly, I was unable to get the shell back on when stacking the two 3S batteries. They fit in the holder, but if using the existing shell attachment points, they stuck up too much.

6s will fit...body will be lifted to one side.

Just make sure your ESC supports 3s.
I'm trying to find out if it supports it. I did not get a manual with the servo and information online about it is scarce. It's a Spektrum S665. I'll keep looking.

Thanks,
Mark

Spektrum S665 is the servo. The Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) that connects to the battery...check the specs online for its rating.
Doh! Sorry I had servo-brain...

This is from Jennys, where I got it.
