if i buy this

HOBBYWING Ezrun Max6 G2 Combo 4990 (1650KV)​

will this bolt right into the stock motor mount and esc plate or do i need to buy new mounts and plate?

The motor mount works with the 4990 can, for the ESC you'll need a new mount.

. Motor is a direct drop in for the esc just cut the lip off the esc tray and it will fit just fine with set double sided tape. There are a number of aftermarket ones that allow you to screw the esc to the plate from the bottom, I like the CF ones better than the aluminium just do to the fact they have provisions for mounting the switch.

I used this with my Max6 G2 & the factory mount & cut the lip off. But can be mounted without it as Slick mentioned & DS tape. I modded it some & ran longer screws all the way through the factory mount & thru the adapter plate into the ESC.

All my MAX6s are stuck to stock ESC plates. You have to grind or cut the lip off of the ESC plate. I also had to trim the side rail a bit for the motor to fit. Both modifications took me less than 5 minutes to do.
