Hey guys, I'm using the castle 1717 combo and I'm thinking of finding smaller 4s batteries that will fit the stock box.

Does anyone know of any batteries that fit? especially in the 5,000mah range?

I found some batteries in the 4,000 or 3200 mah range that will fit

Planning on running at 8s on 75% power to get the equivalent of 6s power but at a higher voltage.

EDIT: that battery linked above is spec'd lower than recommended, but the way I see it, I'm increasing the voltage by 33% and decreasing the mah by 25%, then reducing the max power to 75%. So I should have plenty of overhead. Theory anyway.

I managed to squeeze in 2 4's yowoo 100c graphenes 6000mah. Very tight fit though and you have to remove the top piece on battery tray to get the batteries in before you put it back on haha. It works and was secure enough though!

Yeah, my current 4s cells are 135c SMC's 5200mah, and its just a bit too tall. I have to mess around with the box, but I'm so hard on these things I was hoping to find a more permanent solution for mounting...

Good to know it was secure enough for you though.....

I did get them in there without removing that piece and just added Velcro everywhere, but it was too micky mouse for my liking. I should try removing that top plastic entirely.

DREMEL!

I run the Powerhobby4s packs and they fit in the stock tray without any modifications. Been running them for a couple years now with no problems at all.

That might not fit the Talion, spec sheet says I have 70mm to work with....so that's almost 10% too tall

Very nice suggestion though - thank you @Mr.Duke

Weird. Wonder if they changed vendors for the cells(?)
I’ve run these same packs on 8s in my Talion as well and they fit with room to spare
