I hit 61mph on 3S and 76mph on 4S!!..... Ending in a crash
Arrma tough, I don't think I broke anything on the car, we will see when I give it a good look over tomorrow.
3 reasons I crashed: 1. it was under 40 out, 2. I had no body down force, and 3. I really love to crank on the wheel lol I don't try to, I have it at a 1s delay and 30%.

Doing some work on the car today, not going to rebuild the front end but tighten some things up and adding the 38lbf/In springs that i boght in Nov.
Also, I am attempting to tune it and get it going straight and I got my body finally so I will be installing that.

@vwturbowolf How close to the ground do you run your front splitter? I put 2, 8-32 Nylon washers in them (McCoy says to use 1-2, he put one in (this was on the V2)), and I feel like it is still too high.

I was trying the Peter Dirks’ lock tight trick to tighten up ball cups and I used the same lock tight, and it has been over 24h and it has not dried.
What am I doing wrong?

I usually try to keep it as low to the ground with it scraping at high speed. Usually takes a little testing because every setup I have is a little different. Set rear as high as you can and then adjust the body straight

I finally got to run today, the car has been mostly ready for the last month I have been just waghting for some time.
Maiden voyage for the now body, I got 63mph body-less on 3S which is above/about average for this car.
I was working on my driving and my trims. I went well. Now it is 4S time, I hope it holds.

Got out and did a 64mph 3S pass (nothing changed on the car) body on.
I tryed to run 4S and it cut out twice at 76mph. I think it is the same trigger pull (delay) and I know it is the same gearing that I did 82mph with.
I think the problem was the road temp was 125 so maybe a temp cut??? You never know with these Spektrum ESCs. I think the next time I go out I will add 0.5s the trigger pull and only do 1 3S pass let it cool down and get right to the run.
Like the new body?

Ran the car today got 62mph on 3S.
Then I put the 4S pack in there, my nerves were going crazy, but I pined it with a 6.5s delay and got 80mph in 745ft!
That is a 2023 PB for me over all! I have done 82mph with 4S in this car in 950ft so I only lost 1mph per 100ft. I really wanted to go home with a working car after a full 4s run. the goal for today was 80 and it hit it right on the dot.
Also I had to keep it on one side of the road since it the mide of one of the lanes there was a gouge and it car did not fight me so that is great, before my work on this spring and summer I was fighting to keep it on the road.
what's next: I will make a 1,000ft+ pass with 4S, I hope to see around 84mph then it is 6S time! I will be dropping the gearing from 34/34 to 29/34.

Ran 3S today got 62mph (I don't know why but it is stuck at 62 even though I let it be at WOT for maybe the longest ever).
Ran 2 4S passes today got an 80 then an 81 the 81 pass was 850ft. I think if I ran close to 1000ft and had a fully charged battery I could see 83 or 84 but what surprises me is that this is the 4S pack that i rarely use so I would think it would give me 1 or 2 mph more than the other one.
The car runs so nice now so i think it is 6S time!!!! I am now going to be flirting with triple digits. I am going to gear down from 34/34 to 29/34 and see what happens. Speed Calculator says 119mph but @RedondoBeachRC knows that is not going to happen. I think i will start out at 60% throttle and keep bumping it up by 10% if I make it to 100% w/o seeing 100+ I will run a 30t pinion and that should do the trick.

I haven't heard my ESC click off 6S in a long time.
I did a 4S run, I think it was 74mph which I was very happy with.
Then I ran 6S at 50%, got 68mph then 60%, 79mph!
I need to rechange then I am going to run at 70% should smash my 2023 and 2022 PB.
Then I will keep going up 5% at a time until I get 100+!
I need to reglue 1 or 2 of my tires and adjust the body posts just a little since my body is warped down a little on the driver's side and it is rubbing.

70% drum roll..........
86mph!!!!!!!!!! (In under 800ft)
That is a new 6S PB (was 82mph) and a new PB for the year (was 81mph).
My body is still rubbing and at slow speeds (20-40mph), and there is a weird flapping sound.
Going to try 75% next time out should see 89-90mph.
I should see 100mph before I hit 100% (Maybe on my 95% run?!?!?)
I think RedondoBeachRC did 106 with this ESC on 6S and my bet is he was using nicer batteries than I am.
100mph is the goal, it would be nice to have something a little over like 102 or 103.

When I was running the Spektrum 160A ESC I was using CHNL 90C batteries I believe

I did do some 6S testing with an Infraction body.. I believe it was 2.8:1 Diffs (GP5) and 42t spur and 25t pinion. I used a 1721-2400kv motor and XLX2

93mph!!!!!!!!!
7mph faster than the last time i was out.
75% input, 0.8s of WOT.
There was a cut the last run (86mph), but I thought it was at the top and it was because I fluttered the throttle so I guess I would get 89 or 90 at 75%
Well, it must have been not at 70% yet cos I ran tonight with a 6s delay (what I have been using) and it cut around 5s at 89mph, so I bumped it up to 7s and was able to run w/o a cut. Since I am running a Spektrum ESC you don't get the run times and data like with a Castle so having your spotter time you runs helps a lot, definitely going to have them do it again, maybe every run from now on.
I used about 975ft vs 800ft (I am trying to make my runs longer because I know I need it).
The car ran so well, it was so smooth and stayed in 1 lane most of the run. The only thing I changed on the car was I raised the front body posts a little because the body was rubbing, and I did not use tape on the sides.
Edit: I am only one mph away from my ALL time PB of 94mph on 8S, next successful pass I should exceed that!
Today was the 1st time I have seen 90mph+ in over 2y, and I think the 2nd time ever.

80% cut? 90 or 91mph
85% no cut 94mph
90% cut 90 tryed again 90mph cut (WOT would have been around 96mph)
WOT 27/34 (vs 29/34) 95% 93mph (math from the 85% no cut run shows I should have been able to get 98-102 with this pass)

All 100% throttle runs (No limit) (I went out 4 times in 2 days to get all these runs in)
27/34, 6S, 7s trigger, 91mph (back to back), WOT
27/34, 7S, 8s trigger, 94mph, cut at 6.9s/8s (LVC) The problem with the Spektrum ESC is it thinks I am running 8S so LVC is very high for 7S
Set the motor timing from 0 to 3.1 since I had almost no heat.
28/34, 6S, 8s trigger, 93mph, WOT
28/34, 7S, 8.5s trigger, 98mph!, LVC a little after 7s, 1120ft
29/34, 6S, 8s trigger, 92mph, 0.7s WOT, 1160ft
29/34, 7S, 9s trigger, 93mph, Amp cut?, 975ft
I went up to 30T just to see if it really was over gearing that slowed my speed.
30/34, 6S, 8s trigger, 91mph, 7s Amp cut? I can see the body warping down in the back making the wheel wells hit the tires, it looks like if you want to use this body with the stock body posts you will need to reinforce the rear of the body. I thought that was happing, this run confirmed it.
30/34, 7S, 8s trigger, 96mph, LVC at 6.2s, 990ft
28/34, 7S, 8.0s trigger, 95mph, LVC at 7s, 1143ft
I haven't done 8S in over 2y!
28/34, 8S, 9s trigger,104mph!!!, I let out at 6.8s, 1010ft, bat's at 4.10v/cell at the start of the run.
I don't know what the future holds for this car, I may try to get 100mph with 6S. I wanted to do some light drag with it, but I am working on a 4wd 1/10 instead.
Thank you all for your help, I couldn't have done it without you.

Congrats man! Some solid runs and quality testing you did there.
Now its Castle ESC time ;)

I need to start running a Spektrum again now that batteries have improved so much!

I have a brand new 160A ESC I can try out and an old 2050kv
