so i got this 8s fireteam . firma 160 ,1100kv ,4585 motor ,20tooth pinion?

only run it on 6s . never seen a wheelie from this setup . i know stock ones will wheelie .

if i up the pinion will it wheelie ?; or just overheat my motor ? ( no fan)

You need a 46T spur and 24+ tooth pinion being half the kV of stock motor on 6S, while you have the center diff apart throw in some 500k+ fluid.

Seems easier if you're not mechanically inclined to just find a stock 4074 2050kV motor/16T combo. Most people run a 4092 or 4985-1650kV with a 20T pinion and 50t spur.

For the 1100kv you need a much bigger pinion. A 1650 kv on 20 tooth is right at 60 mph. To get that from an 1100 you need a 30 tooth. Another thing that stops wheelies is thin center diff fluid. Put 500k or thicker in the center.

^^^ see above.
Dropping kv that much, even if a bigger motor, your dropping the total power output. Gearing back to stock speeds will gain some of that back but that motor on 6s may still feel kinda lazy at the top end on 6s. Nothing wrong with it, will provide a ton of torque down low. Just a different driving feel vs higher kv.
If your center diff fluid is stock or empty, youll always have difficulty popping a wheelie. 500k would be the MINIMUM to pop the front up, but on that long of a chassis, youll probably need 1mil+. Fireteam isnt exactly a wheelie machine.

bought it this way . came with a 4s and a 6s lipo . never seen the need to run 8s . pretty sure i counted 20 teeth on pinion .

on 6s top speed was 48 mph as clocked by my garmin gps . i am getting great runtime on a single 6000mah lipo . like 30 minutes . usually 2 runs of 14 or 15 min per run of general driving around .

i have no idea whats in the diffs ,i can only assume stock fluids . thing was new condition ,bought from a avid rc car guy who has a large collection . maybe i reach out and ask him about fluids .

ps- stock wheels
pss- seller says stock fluids
