Talion 8S Talion battery size

Hi guys,

I'm currently running a Talion on 6s with a Max 6 esc, and a SSS 4092 2140kv motor.

I was wondering about upping it to 8s, but as it is my 6s only JUST fits in the battery tray at a squeeze. It's this one:

Turnigy Graphene 4000mAh 6S 65C Lipo Pack w/XT90

Does anyone know of an 8s that would fit? Or should I go for two 4s, maybe these?

Single 8s will be expensive two smc 4s will work

I didn't even know they made single 8S batteries for ground RC's ? They must be huge!

I run 2 of these in my Kraton 6s and they fit in the stock battery tray

I think most 8S surface motors top around 1100kv, right?

Oops my mistake again! I meant the Hobbystar 4092 1480kv, which would give a max RPM of 49,728

Max voltage is less than 28v.

The HobbyWing 4985 1650kv is rated for 6s but I’ve been running it exclusively on 8s since last fall without any issues.

How did you get a 49mm diameter motor to fit? My 40mm barely fits

I believe he modified the stock mount but you can get this: https://practicalproto.com/products/v4mount
There is an option for larger motors.

V3 Mount needs to be shimmed up a couple mm but I run it with a stock v4 mount and it fits without any modification
