  1. Mojave
I get quite a bit play in steering bellcrank after around 10 runs and it's all due to crappy bushings, they are quite worn and my Mojave can't keep straight line and also because they are worn, dirt gets inside and bellcrank gets seized and my servo can't handle it anymore. At the same time cheaper Traxxas uses bearings instead of just crappy metal ring.
Does anyone having same problem and maybe someone has tried to buy such a small bearing that could fit in?

I have never ran stock bearings in any of my rigs to date. I will give the EXB bearings a run for their money, but otherwise I tear all mine down before first run to replace them.

My steering crank/servo saver upgrade came with bearings and made a massive difference in removing steering slop.
Its a 'must do' upgrade IMO..

The bearings are one of the first upgrades for all of the vehicles. Jim’s bearings are good

Thanks.
Yeah, have checked Jim's websites, sounds very good, but I won't be ordering as I'm in Europe, It would take time get them and probably quite expensive delivery if they actually delivers.
But it's not necessary to buy bearings from places that makes bearings just for RC cars, you can also get them from places that specialises in all sorts of bearings . For example can get good quality Japanese bearings any sizes you want and they will last forever. Places like Jims charges extra because they selling just for RC cars, but in real life they are just a bearings, of course the ceramic and so on kits are stronger than just stainless steel, but you get those reinforced bearings form places that specialises in bearings.

The problem is that Mojave does not have any bearings in steering. ?
I Envy you guys in US...?. All upgrades and also stock parts are million times cheaper than in Europe. I wish I could just order everything so easy and cheap, not worrying about delivery and price...

It is easy to add bearings to the steering you just need 4 6x10x3mm sealed ball bearings.

Yep, now I know. Thanks. Will get them soon as possible, i guess it will make a big difference in steering. Also I have noticed rest of my stock bearings are worn so it's all together to scrap and fit brand new ones.

Hmm.. ceramic bearings might initially offer a tiny (0.3 - 3% rolling resistance movement by being 'harder' and 'rounder') but that improvement can be negated or even decrease to negative due to the need for ceramic bearings to have snap in cages which have higher friction inherantly.
Also.. when you have steel race's in hybrid bearings (which is what you will typically be buying unless you go to extortionate full ceramic) the harder ceramic balls will wear a track into the softer steel and so the deterioration accelerates faster than steel bearings over the long term.

See- https://www.hambini.com/ceramic-bearings-vs-steel-bearings-an-engineering-analysis/

With the steering bellcrank bearings I don't think you really need anything fancy like that but its your choice I guess..

These topics always make me think I'm being lucky , I have yet to lose a bearing in any of my Armma rc's , or servos/motors/esc's ??? Used my Mojave way more than 10 runs , steering seems fine to me , however when I got my 2nd Mojave , you def can tell the difference driving between the two ( obviously the new one everything seems better LOL ) . But FWIW , the bearings are cheap enough , guess it wouldn't hurt to go thru it now .
Also , maybe cause its because right from when they were new , I installed chassis net covers so no dirt/debri got inside the truck , but as summer months came I noticed the motor temps starting to rise, so installed the dual fans on the motors in both !!!!
Only thing I broke on either Mojave was a rear bumper , and 1 rear arm . IMO , great trucks !!!!

Yeah, I want to consider some kind of cover. What is that cover that you installed on your Mojave?

Hambini is the MAN..!!??? He knows his ???

He sure does... I'm not even into cycling but after watching a few of his other videos he earned a Sub from me on content merit. He's a proper engineer who's opinions are based purely on measurements/data rather than what the sponsoring manufacturers want him to say... as seems to be happening to the majority of YT influencers.. A dying breed. Kudos/Respect to the man!

I've worked with some of his products and to say the quality is high would be an understatement..?

It is for a slash 2wd LCG chassis , I had it laying around , made it fit .

I have an Outcast 6S that I got for X-mas. Third time out, the steering bellcrank (Ackerman Bar)started giving me troubles, so I replaced it and got a new more powerful servo. I also followed the instructions in this video & all of that helped some. However, what finally fixed my problems (which was mainly not turning to the left correctly & what I thought was a loose wheel bearing) was properly adjusting the BIG pillow balls at the end of the A-arms. Now my steering is a true & reliable as the day after Christmas.

Thanks. Did that with servo saver before I've noticed those metal rings instead of bearings. And I did untie those pillow balls too. Now I have bearing play in my servo and them two black bolts on that red steering rack.

Looks like I’ll need to look at bearing upgrades too. I recommend installing the inner mud guards. Got them from Scorched Parts in the UK. I’m in Australia and they came pretty quickly. Easy to cut and install and keeps all the mud, spray and dirt out of the tub

we made an episode on YouTube about the mojave and the mudguards
