Arrma RC's
  1. Senton 6s
Hey guys so its daylight savings time again,
"Only white man can cut 2 inches from top of blanket, sew onto bottom of blanket and think he has a longer blanket"

With that being said,
I have nowhere to start but here.

I would like to equip my Arrma Senton (3s BLX) with some tasteful headlights, you know, since i get home from work at 4pm and its dark by 5pm.

Trying to do a budget beater mod too so im not looking for top shelf lights. Just something to shine

Yalls input is always appreciated.

You trying to have them on all the time or controlled by a remote?

Well that depends, whick is cheaper or easier.
And if the LED lights im assuming, don't draw to much power.

A switch would be cool. On when i need them on and off otherwise

But if battery consumption is minimal i could do an always on config.

Not too picky.

Just lost on wiring and how too

Yeah you can Amazon lights for like $7 I have extra channels on my radio so I got a turnigy switch so I can wire it to be controlled from radio as an on off. That was like $35 to do. Wiring is simple. If you need assistance just ask I can walk you threw either way.

Im not even sure what to search. Am i going to buy a lightbar? Power and ground wire?
And the only wires i have are 2 from the battery and 3 from the motor. And my balance wires

The transmitter you have is only a 2 ch transmitter so you couldn't control any lights because you don't have the extra button or switch for a extra channel. You would need at least a 3 Ch transmitter to control lights.

You can just plug the lights into any open slot on the receiver for power. Most lights will come with a receiver plug end to plug into the receiver. Even if the plug isn't long enough you can just use a servo extension.

The cheapest and easiest way is to just get a set of 5mm and/or 3mm lights with a receiver plug and drill some holes in the front and back of the body for lights.

You can find sets of lights on Ebay, Amazon, Aliexpress etc.

Lights on order!
I think i figured out where they will go as far as wiring.
Im gonna need to be creative with mounting.
Thinking about a chassis mount because my body is heavily beat up

Exact lights I got for the EXACT same reason haha. Was getting sketchy driving so late.

I went super ghetto - I also bought a 6” 3-pin extension cable. That way I can just not plug it in when I don’t need it, and I don’t have to open my receiver box.

Don’t forget a body reamer if you don’t have one.

Well the lights came in today!
I was able to wire them up before the wife got too annoyed with my RC modding. So ill have to hard mount the lights and secure the wiring around the chassy.

The plug that came on these bad boys tho didnt want to fit in my... Wherever it goes esc?
So i took the pins out and taped each one up with electrical tape and just stuck them on the pins!
Hope the bashing doesn't shake them loose. And don't worry, the wiring wont be this ugly when im finished.

Gon a hard mount everything to the chassy so i wont have to unplug the busted ass body everytime.

Should come out good.

Awesome. I highly recommend putting a terminal back on the wires. They will fall out and when they do. There is a pretty good chance It can short out the esc, servo and receiver... you can hit the lhs those ends you need are very cheap.

well you are plugging it into the receiver - have a look at an alternative solution - seller on ebay who actually plugs into the ESC

terminals should definitely go back in the connector they fly off easily .. maybe you had it the wrong way round? they are typically slightly keyed

Well i have a
- + s in that order.
And there is already something plugged into the esc

You can use a servo Y cable like this https://www.amainhobbies.com/parkzo...TiEfsTJtBkYSxnDh9eGZfeMi0c77Iy-MaAt4SEALw_wcB plug it into the esc fan port and plug the lights and esc fan into it.

If you don't want have to to go into the receiver box just get a servo extension like this https://www.amainhobbies.com/protek...vo-extension-lead-male-female-ptk-5204/p14569.

Some connectors called Futaba connectors have a guide slot on the signal wire side. You just trim that guide slot off and it will fit.

Well i bashed it hard enough to break the bulkhead
Where the top of the shock mounts. Lights stayed on the whole time.
