Typhon Addvice on gearing high for 4s speed

OK ya I think I'm off as just looked at last pass I made at 107mph and only pulled 303A so the 101mph maybe 280 maybe, also was running perfect pass and like I said be surprised if I even got 100% throttle.

Cool that'll give me something to compare to tomorrow. I expect about 101mph.i may stick with this 33/32 an get 3,4 consistent 100-105ish passes,try parallel,try swapping lo-pro wing..I wanna go as fast as I can an still make safe consistent runs.an if I don't crash out.i shouldn't on 4s right??😂then I'll gear up more till something gives.4s fun to be had.you gonna join in?????

Hey I saved my passes being ALL OVER lol so you should be able to🤣
 
I pull around 500amps on 4s runs using xlx2 in my typhon.
But i don't use a perfect pass so maybe would be lower.

Ive used panthers and chnl g series but have ordered SMC srd 4s.

Where you running higher kv 4s motor???????
So after gearing up to 33/32 I ran 88mph..expecting 100+.pulled 280a.ran 91 with 30/32..I've removed big kraton wing mount for a low-profile wing mount an try again.

So ran again on 33/32 and 89mph.after looking at log ill go to run spot and stretch it out some. Rpms climbing when I lift.cant wait to see if parallel will help with v-drop.

Ive tried a few different motors.
Just got a cheap 2900kv in atm.
I have the TP 4050cm 2300 i want to try on 4s too.

That first run , the voltage looks like it climbing nicely . Id try again.

But parralell will certainly help.
 
Was having problems with getting above 94mph with tp4050cm 2300kv..decided to try tp5660 1460kv with 43/29 an 93mph first pass..the difference in torque an power is night an day.this is with shorter gearing too.couple more runs then gear up.no fans needed..back to back 90+runs

I run one in my limitless.

Rained yesterday, super windy today.might get a 4s run in today.the power difference on 4s between 4050 an 5660 is astronomical...I wonder the maximum pinion size on pps mount is?? Ordered a 50t pinion.lol

Atm im using a tp 4060 for typhon on 4s.
But maybe 4070 nxt year.

So far had 146 outta that 1460kv 5660.
Seems a good motor.

Also have a 5670 1270kv 3y.its got noticeable more power an runs much cooler than 1460kv.im running mojave chassis an I remounted everything for more centered drivetrain, less vibrations, shaft,cup failures.still testing things before full send.these bigger 56mm are much harder than the 40s on everything., but oddly seam much more efficient
 
I know someone that has a 5670 in a Limitless. Similar kv as my 5660 and i did notice the shaft was harder to turn.

Ive just brought a 5670, not sure what its going in tho yet.
 
98mph pb for this car on 4s.rpms still climbing when lifting.surprised it pulled under 300amps..Will be able to gear up alot more..get a couple more,Longer runs with this gearing first.$hitty trigger pull from 80-100%

Damn,snow is fun for about the 1st day.then F-snoww.😅🤣😂.getting lots of rain next few days .think it'll pull 100mph with this gearing.been useing dumborc with 3s lipo running it an getting good range so far..kinda scared of the radiolink receivers lately..

surprised the 1460 is doing so well compared to 4050 2300.
its abit hard to see but looks like voltage recovering and rpms climbing nicely

After getting 100mph, if you wanna try for 120 plus, maybe go for a higher kv 40 can.





Castle ESCs struggle with 6 pole motors. The y-wind helps a little I think?
All castle motors are y-wind so they certainly do more motor testing with y-winds
The 1460kv 5660 y wind don't seem to bad.
Ive ran 4070cm 2200 in same car.


But,I know for a fact the 5670 i just brought is going to be very hard on the esc.
Abit of a gamble on my part but if pays off
It could be fun..
