Arrma RC's
  1. Senton 6s
  2. Talion
I installed one of these in an XL KRATON. The truck has 20 mm extensions on each side from Just Bash It. It’s a heavy truck with aluminum parts and a MMX8S 1717. Plenty of power. Also have an external BEC putting 8.4v to the servo. Servo worked great for maybe 20 runs then just quit. No busted gears! Just quit. Replaced with the PP MONSTER( which appears to be the same servo except silver). I think on a regular Kraton this servo would be long lasting. This particular truck is hell on servos so I’m still trying to get one strong enough to handle it. If you have never drove a kraton xl with extensions you should try it! The truck drives so good! Hard on part’s though 😂😆👍 Regular Talion sitting behind it.

Agfrc makes servos for a bunch of people like perfect pass, reefs, shift rc, ect. Why not try contacting agfrc to see if they can help you. Their customer service has been pretty good for me.

I was just looking at those. I had a 930 last a long time in the same truck. Have you tried both of these?

I’ll give it a shot. I just don’t think I have the receipt. You have the number?

I have the promodeler 1155 in a heavy xmaxx (2028 1100kv combo) and it works great!

I have not tried either of them. I’ve tried numerous 505’s, 630’s, 635’s, etc. and have a DS1885BLDP in a DBXL-E. Never a failure or problem with any of them. After running a couple packs through a new one I disassemble them, clean, and degrease/re-grease them. They are really fantastic servos.

I ordered the 1155 so hopefully it will arrive quickly. What do you use to clean inside? That’s pretty all that I need to do to get them to work much longer. I never thought about taking them apart. Are they easy to get back together?

It’s very easy, and as of yet I haven’t had to replace any O-rings while doing the service. Probably because of low use, as I clean them after break-in. Here’s the original link on the PM site. The procedure is well down the page.

Some very good info here, and it applies to most any servo for a procedure that nobody ever seems to do.

Thanks for the link. There really is a lot of good info in all of that. He really is good at putting things in layman’s terms. Do you think it’s a good idea to put grease around the spline gear prior to the servo horn? My intent is to keep moisture out more than lubrication. I try not to get my electronics wet but it does happen sometimes during cleaning and morning runs.

I do put grease there! For the same reason, to repel moisture. But it does collect grit and dirt. I put a dab on the inside of the case at the spline gear as well. The last time I did one I re-oiled the gears with some of that Scorched RC bearing oil. It doesn’t take much.

That's an awesome link. I might just see if I can order parts for my 630 and fix it myself.
Not sure if worth it cause I also need a new shaft that holds the arm as it's twisted.

Yo take apart the old servo and check the board. If it's fried ditch the BEC. I just fried a Savox from my Castle BEC pro pushing full 6s voltage to the servo. I'm doing receiver packs from now on, not risking any more 100+ dollar servos.

I have suspected the BEC of frying receivers before. It kept doing it until I installed a wiring harness that keeps servo voltage out of the receiver. The PP servo I put in works so i hope it don’t fry it! I need to check it though . Good idea thanks
