I have front and rears and have them both shimmed with the factory spacers....If it feels like the diff threads up front are moving when you tighten then add a spacer....if not don't...The rears will def need them for sure...
 
I use whatever the factory shims were on my outcast. I did have to grind/sand the lower/rear arms a bit near the hinge pin where they hit the diff/bulkhead housing as they wouldn't fit otherwise.
