Arrma RC's
  1. Granite
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of my new Granite before I started bashing it, lol. I blew a tire in the first 15 minutes and flipped it several times. I've since blown two more tires and flipped several more times as well as developing some holes in the bed area and elongation of mount holes. I wanted to go with a Big Rock black body, but it's too big for the Granite chassis. It was gonna be a RC version of my 2017 Tundra that I call Trailbreaker after the G1 Transformer. I'll probably go with the blue/black body from the Granite 4x2 version. I just ordered some LED lights and some skid plates for the hood, roof and bed area from eBay.Looking forward to many more days of fun!

Enjoy the ride. The build.
With tires, always check them over when new. They can usually use more CA tire glue than what the factory puts on. Tug on the tire beads well and you may discover areas that need more CA. I also balance my wheels and vent the tires at the tread. Then tape off the inner wheel vents. This can reduce some of the Ballooning effect that makes them blow out. Using thicker Differential oil helps in this regard also. You might have some better luck with your wheels this way. They are one expensive part of this hobby.

Great links and ideas for protection for the Granite! I'm always looking for little things I can do to make mine better as well. The dust covers immediately stand out as a not necessary but probably very helpful item, being new to the hobby myself it took me a while to realize why those holes were even in the chassis (I know now) so covering them came to mind but I haven't done much to upgrade mine (Mega Brushed BOOST version) other than upgrade the tx/rx to DumboRC. Looking forward to seeing how yours comes along!

Thanks! The covers will definitely be great. I had a rocknget stuck in my steering linkage and now it’ll be protected from that happening again. I thought I had broken my steering and it was just a rock, lol. Thank goodness that’s all it was!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll keep this mind when I’m getting new tires. Appreciate the help!

Funny you mention the rock... my Granite developed a bad rattling sound last time I took it out, and we broke it down and checked everything and nothing, turns out it was a small rock just rattling around the chassis.... all I had to do was take the body off and turn it over lol!
