Hey guys. Just a quick update on a server fan to motor fan fabrication I did today and a few notes.
Parts used:
2x server fans https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrW1aM3
Alza racing fan mount https://shop.alza-racing.com/en/fan-covers/170-dual-40mm-aluminium-fan-cover.html
Rocket racing motor mount (it came with a fan im using elsewhere) https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKPBQuL
Connectors and sheathing from hobbyking
8x m3x35mm socket head screws
4x m3 nylock nuts
Yellow and blue wires on the fans can be snipped, just need red and black.
I used a servo connector as I won't be jamming 12v through these.
Have put e6000 inside heatsink to bond to sheathing. Have put blue threadlock to bond screws to motor mount.
Wish I had all black heatshrink!
Slightly cracked fan casing inserting screws. Don't use power tools!
The switch on (volume up):
Update: wasn't happy with bodged finish around connector. Used heatshrink to hide sins!
