Arrma RC's
  1. 4x4-Mega
  2. Felony
  3. Outcast 4s
  4. Outcast 6s
  5. Outcast 8s
  6. Typhon 3s
  7. Typhon 6s
So I was at my lhs a couple weeks ago, owner had an almost new typhon 6s sitting on the counter that was his.. it was run roughly 8 or less times he said.. thing was super clean, he says I know you like arrma, give me 275 its yours... my buddy was looking to grab a new one so I snatched it up for him.. it also had a tqi rx and tx with it..

So here we are today, another victim on the bench for some killer upgrades... I will be going through the whole rig for him.. because my time is limited on the cnc with the holidays and lack of raw 7075, I had him hit up m2c racing for the whole lot of goodies...

More to come as I rip into it.. stay tuned (y)

Absolutely agree sir.. that was cheap money, he will be into it just over the cost of a new one for a very, very stout typhon.. couldnt go wrong..
I'm still waiting on some parts to arrive for my Outcast build then the Typhon 6s is next.

do all those option parts add any considerable weight to the whole vehicle?

Unfortunately I did not throw it on a scale before I dove into it.. it is adding, but not considerable amounts.. definitely not enough for the 6s line to notice or add any I'll behaviors...

So I got right into it this evening, figured I'd bang it out so he can have his beauty back.. :ROFLMAO:
Went with 250k center, 50k front and rear...
Diffs needed shimming, no shims from the factory.. of course I'm out, and waiting on an order for carrier shims.. so I opted to shim the pinion as I had those on hand.. .1mm landed it pretty close to where i want it to be..

Wish the front center brace had a hold down for the esc wires, I like to machine those into the ones I cut.. so I'll have to 3d print a holder that clips onto the top window rail of the brace.. ill include a picture of the ones I cut... i may also 3d print some protectors for the tops of the towers...for now, zip ties will hold the wires just fine!

Of course I had to get into the camber and toe because i really do not like the way they are setup stock...Build went very smooth, even with the gobbs of red loctite.. :ROFLMAO: I'm sure he will enjoy this rig alot!..

Here is what I came up with for wire retention... simple hinged clip, just clips on the m2c front brace..

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:... got the idea from you brother! Just went a step further with the clipping hinge, keeps them nice and tidy...(y)

That typhon is a real bruiser. Nice work on the wire clip!

It surely is.. should be able to take a beating now.. my buddy is still green in the big air stuff, so hopefully it will take the abuse.. I told him to for sure stock up on diff housings cause that energy is going elsewhere now... I still run the factory towers on my outcast i prefer them because they will give when it matters most..

Thanks for the kind words on the wire clip, it should serve its purpose well, and I love how it's so easy to pull the wires out without marring the insulation...
